Trump security attacks photojournalist at rally in Virginia

A member of the United States Secret Service attacked a Time magazine photographer at a Donald Trump rally, grabbing his neck and slamming him to the ground.
Chris Morris, who has been on contract with Time since 1990, was covering the protests at the Republican presidential frontrunners campaign event on Monday at Radford University in Radford, Va.,
I stepped 18 inches out of the pen and he grabbed me by the neck and started choking me. Then he slammed me to the ground, Morris told CNN reporter Jim Acosta onsite.

(36,925 posts)They are paid to keep Trump safe, not enforce his stupid fucking rules on the press. It's not hard to imagine this was sanctioned at higher levels.

While I agree the Secret Service shouldn't be enforcing campaign demands that have little to do with actual security of the candidate, Trump isn't the only one guilty of it.
And the agent should be fired

Apparently the point is to make sure that no one can come up and use a concealed weapon.
It seems lke there is a similar press protocol at these occasions in multiple campaigns.
