Trump considers paying legal bills for man charged at rally
Source: AP via Yahoo News
ATLANTA (AP) Republican presidential primary leader Donald Trump says he will consider paying the legal fees of a North Carolina man captured on video sucker-punching a protester at one of the billionaire's signature mass rallies.
"I don't accept responsibility. I do not condone violence in any shape," Trump told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday.
But when asked whether he'd financially back the supporter, who was arrested and charged with assault, Trump says he's "instructed my people to look into it, yes."
Trump, meanwhile, rejected calls to modify his campaign rhetoric amid increasing instances of violence at his events. Instead he blamed Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders for sending supporters to disrupt Trump events and noted that many of the protesters who clashed with Trump supporters in Chicago on Friday night carried Sanders signs.

This is about as close as it comes to fomenting violence.
Look at the logic: 'You go beat up some opposition and I'll take care of your legal bills.'

(3,569 posts)Trump's forte! "I'll sue the hell out of em" and then never does, cuz he knows he would lose. Too a lot of people it is enough to make the whatever go away...the perceived threast of a lawsuit.
If you did pay then lawyers would use that against him in the trials that you know will happen over some of these events. No lawyer is going to let him pay for nothing.

(24,710 posts)if that is the case, he hasn't put two and two together to think, that if he pays this racist legal bills, that if someone else does it he is going to pay for there acts also---------------------this is amazing-----------------everyone would then say you paid his, why not mine, see I believe in your mantra of violence, see...................
Then you have Cruzless and iRobot, trying to distance themselves from this "stuff" but they were and are doing the same thing, they just aren't saying get him or her outta here
I can't wait to see in this clown car convention, that if he gets the nomination, the public will know, this coming Tuesday on the clown show media broadcasting stations, that think this great for the moola and ratings, they have presidents of national organization oligarchies saying so.
What I want to hear is that after he quits self funding himself, which I really don't give a damn, what is the "republican" right wing party establishment going to do, when it comes to funding this neo-nazi after "the convention'----------------------------are they going to say NO?: Not hardly rofl:
What about the congressional people that are supporting this wind bag, and these senators that have come out already that if he gets the nomination they will support him------------------------you just can't make this stuff up, it's being shown live.
Just think what the democratic ads are going to look like----------------
Tonight at the republican party convention that was suppose to represent patriotism, and law and order as there platform, there is a party and it's leader who says, if you do the crime, he pays for the time, it's ok.
Donald James Trump believes in supporting people who break the law, and then show the guy sucker punching the black guy, or when people are throwing people on the ground at his other rallies of hate--------------Donald James Trump approves of violence, just imagine what he would do to the rest of the world, then bring back the old Daisy ad--------------I mean really
My personnel feelings is that I want there right wing party to go away, go back under there rock

(35 posts)that will allow me to keep my sense of humor as twisted as it is. One is that I set DJ Drumpf's words to music when he opens his pie hole. It works wonderfully well to one of the main songs from Wizard of Oz. Dah dah dah dah......"Drumpf b.s. words"..."if I only had a brain, a heart, the noive"....
Noive, he theoretically got, but no brain, no heart. He is the perfect Scare-Tin Man. He is hollow, shallow, and scarier than the wicked witches. Now we just need a house to drop on him. And if he could be accompanied by sucker punch buffoons and most of the right wing, I would be really happy.
How is it possible that he continues his perpetual motion machine going? How is it that people vote for this hedonistic, misogynistic, asshole of a human??? Svengali, Rasputin, Charles Manson all had that eerie ability to captivate.. but no thank you, I would not care to vote for any of them either. Actually they'd all be safe to vote for, as one will never come out and the others, again a Wizard of Oz quote with thanks to Mr. Baum, "not only really dead, but really most sincerely dead."
The other thing I do is I am vocal and eager to break as many Repugnant-ican voters as I can. We do not just need the over zealous right wing/wing-nut party under the rock, now we need our platform to be to stand on top of that rock. And not waiver or budge. No escaping under the rock unless you go down...where they all seem to agree an honest to goodness place exists. I hear it is nice and toasty...and full of folks just like Mr. sucker puncher.

(24,710 posts)that going out to vote against these people is / are the most important aspect that we have, when we / us go out and vote against the republican establishment, and those that side for political gain through and for the greed, it not only shows that we can and that we must also, take this republic back.
The MSM, when they interview him (Trump / drumpF) have not asked him if he is narcissistic, because in my opinion if they asked that simple question, he has no answer, it exposes him to another question on the same subject line---------------he would give his standard speech, of denial, so that puts him in the uncomfortable position of not being electable----------------because he has been exposed, his ego has been exposed, all you have to do is say the word, and his head would explode, in the proverbial sense, because he shows no emotion, his ego is the most important aspect to him, in my opinion.
He would then get on "his" narcissistic stage and say that the MSM asked him if he was narcissistic, his supporters would start screaming and booing (because he would then point to the camera(s) in the back, and the reporters in the back and, say, they are the problem), because, they, "his" core audience do not know (some of them on what the word means), all they see his him pointing his finger and him saying something about the media.
Now, I have to say that I think some in the media do not belong in the media of journalism, but this is my opinion
If, and when he gets into a debate the individual responding to his attack has the means to deflect those remarks, and put the subject matter into such a way as to show how narcissistic he really is, without saying the word.
It places him on the defense in the debate--------------every time, because all you have to do is expose the narcissistic ego, you can say the word, what would he do..................he would become defensive, everytime, don't get into a tic for tac moment just say, that word everytime he answers a question, with his hate, all someone has to say is that sounds narcissistic .............what is he going to do.
This, is why, in my opinion, why Sanders / Clinton are just coming out and saying your liar about (drumnpf), because when someone is narcissistic they have a tendency to lie, because their ego is so big they don't know what is the truth or what there lie is anymore, they have to keep building on that ego.
The other candidates on that right wing side are in some way(s) and sense also narcissistic, really listen in my opinion, to what they say, they want there ego to be just like his
These two item(s) below are in my opinion are the core of the conservative establishment, everything, from the governorship, local and state legislatures, congress and even the presidency, to the U.S. Supreme Court

Anyway, for Trump to pay for ANYTHING is laughable - he would only pay if he could charge it off somewhere. Plus - a big plus - to pay it would mean officially and irrevocably condoning or taking responsibility for the violence, and that could be used against him later, plus it would embolden others to commit violence, knowing or assuming Trump would pay the penalty.

(8,965 posts)A few years back Trump was going to have "his people" get to the bottom of it. One of these days perhaps?! But yes, for Trump to "look into" something means rhetorically kicking a can down the road and then proceeding to walk right past it. Given actual cost to himself and potential blowback, he won't lift a finger to assist anyone that he himself incites to commit an act of violence. Trump will remain in predictable wishy-washy mode until the next disturbing spectacle grabs media center stage.
