Democrats to Sanders: Time to wind it down

Democratic senators of all stripes are as impressed as they are surprised by Bernie Sanders insurgent campaign.
But the time has come, they say, for Sanders to start winding things down.
After holding their fire on Sanders for the better part of a year, the senators all backers of Hillary Clinton are gently calling on Sanders to face the reality that theres almost no chance hes going to be the Democratic nominee. They dont say outright he should quit; doing so would be counterproductive, they say.
But nearly a dozen Democratic lawmakers suggested in interviews that Sanders should focus more on stopping Donald Trump and less on why he believes Clintons stands on trade, financial regulation and foreign policy would make her a flawed president.

(250 posts)These Senators act like they know what's best. They are hoping people quit believing in what is right and just lie down. To hell with them. Quitting now is an awful example to set for our future. FIGHT!!!
That's what I was taught to do if you believe in what's right. I think this country needs to wake up and see the garbage we are being fed by these scum bags.
Making another donation today. Every time I hear these weak, spineless, douchebags say quit, just means more money to the cause.
GO BERNIE!!!
Also, no need to tell me to read past the title. I know what it says, but reading between the lines, it is obvious they are tired of Bernie calling out the Clinton campaign for all their bullshit and fall in line. Screw them. It's primary time. People need to see the truth.

No, don't think so. Then, Clinton may well be a flawed president and not suitable for that office.

It is a primary. Not an election. It is the process by which a political party chooses who is going to represent it in the election.

(18,572 posts)... I'm reminded, as often happens, of a "Peanuts" cartoon. Charlie Brown is trying to convince Violet not to hit him, offering a reasoned argument about how children should learn to solve their problems without violence, or how can they be good adults? Whereupon Violet slugs him, admitting to Patty "I had to hit him quick, he was beginning to make sense!"
Mr Sanders has to shut it down quick, he's beginning to make them nervous.

(45,319 posts)All of them have opposed the civil rights of LGBT over the years, Chuck being a DOMA voter who should have listened to Bernie back then but instead did his 'pragmatic bigotry' method. Shaheen was against equality as Governor then magically for it about the same time the rest of Third Way started 'evolving'. McCaskill, one of the last Democrats to stop opposing the rights of others.
I don't say Third Way lightly as Shaheen and McCaskill are both co-chairs of Third Way.
I see all of these Senators as disrespecting the democratic process and the very voters who lend them the authority they think is their own.

(12,648 posts)to vote their choice?
This is ridiculous. Right now we have two highly qualified candidates debating issues of National importance. We have a one/two punch going into the conventions against Trump and it is very effective. Once we stop our primary process we open our candidate up to a steady barrage of filth from the Trump camp.
I want to see our eventual candidate chosen by the most Democrat voters possible and I want them both to present their vision and platform to us at our convention.

In 2008, Obama didn't have the FBI rummaging through a server of classified documents found in his home. Hillary was hoping for a scandal in 2008 ... but it wasn't to be. Now, she's hoping she isn't the scandal in 2016 .. but her odds are not nearly as good as Obama's were.
How many of these Senators backed Bernie? None. So screw them. They'll just have to imagine what it's like to measure drapes in their cabinet office.

(39,215 posts)for Bernie (60% to her 40%) are refusing to make any deals until the primary is over. We want to go to the Convention with as much power as we can hold.
Secondly, this meme is just a way for the Clinton campaign to try to get Bernie voters to stay away from the polls in states that have not voted yet. States she needs desperately. Hopefully it will not work.
Finally, our area convention also called on all of our super-delegates to vote the way as their states voted and since they are mostly elected officials I would assume they would be smart enough to listen.
Hillary still wants that coronation and she is not going to get it no matter what the establishment wants - they still need our votes.

(614 posts)articles like this reflect mostly a nervousness, if not outright panic from the dem establishment.
seriously; if they were so confident hillary had this in the bag, there would be no need for such articles at all. if they were so certain, they could just ignore him. 'oh? that guy? please.'
but, problem is, they can't. they have to - ahem - address the, erm, problem of the BERN!!
they know it's getting serious now, and the numbers are far closer (hence the "almost impossible"
than they'd like them to be right now.
plus, this: what i cannot understand for the life of me is how rigidly the DNC/DLC folks resist this powerful wave, which is - if nothing else (and we all know it's far more than...) - the wave of the future. why are they not working more diligently to cultivate it, to harness it, to bring it on board? instead, they persist in insisting on just pissing us all off. WTF???
keep on keepin' on, folks! it ain't over till it's over!
FEEL THE BERN!!
