Cruz on Kasich: 'You can't lose every state and expect to be the nominee'
Source: CNN
Ted Cruz said Wednesday that Ohio Gov. John Kasich needs to drop out of the Republican presidential race because "it's mathematically impossible" for him to become the nominee.
"You can't lose every state and expect to be the nominee," Cruz told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day." "Right now, Kasich's role is really being a spoiler. Kasich benefits Donald Trump."
Kasich lost 27 states before winning his home state of Ohio, Cruz said. And the governor lost both Utah and Arizona Tuesday.
Cruz argued that Kasich, who trails both Trump and Cruz in the delegate race, would need to win "more than 100% of the remaining delegates" in order reach the 1,237 required to secure the nomination. As of Wednesday, Trump leads with 741, Cruz has 461 and Kasich has 145.

Kasich joined Lehman's investment banking division as managing director in 2001, working there until the firm's collapse in September 2008 unleashed global panic and served as the catalyst for the financial crisis.

(10,857 posts)The Man is already trying to set up a third party run, but what if Kasich and Cruz refuse to drop out and go their own way? As long as they're making money on the campaign trail--and get to keep it--why drop out?
Cross your fingers because that would be a guaranteed majority EV win for the Democratic candidate.

(2,922 posts)But honestly, Kasich should already be out and gone. He was lucky so many Dems crossed party lines to vote for him in the Primary to try and put a dent in Trump's running delegate count, but Kasich instead took it as some kind of mandate that he was electable elsewhere. He's clearly not though when he comes in fourth place in a three-man race, losing to a candidate (Rubio) who dropped out already. He should call it quits to save face, but he is arrogant, stubborn and delusional. He'll stay in until he ends up like Ben Carson, with no money left to continue.
