Houston pilot accused of running brothels
Source: Houston Chronicle
A United Airlines pilot has been arrested and accused of running a string of brothels in apartment complexes throughout Houston.
Bruce Wayne Wallis, 51, was charged with aggravated promotion of prostitution and engaging in criminal activity, accused of running about a half-dozen brothel apartments with six to 10 women in each one.
Court records show that the women advertised online and had to pay Wallis $400 a week to ply their trade.
Assistant Harris County District Attorney Lester Blizzard confirmed that Wallis was a pilot for United Airlines and said the criminal enterprise operation was "massive."

People just wanted to have sex and a place to have it.
This not "massive"...Lester, go bust some Banksters or Enron types.
p.s...and this verbiage,
"the women advertised online and had to pay Wallis $400 a week to ply their trade."
Oh please!
One more,
"He said 19 women were arrested for prostitution. No clients were arrested, he said."
Of COURSE no clients (aka MEN) were arrested.

(1,134 posts)In this case it would make sense if he was a drug smuggler who was smuggling drugs during his flights. Or maybe if he was a cop with a brothel, and he used his police powers to benefit his business.
Bruce Wayne... hehehee

(10,857 posts)Since the 1990s, Chuck Shepherd has been observing the strange phenomenon of the middle name "Wayne" and its relationship to crime. He keeps a list of murderers with that middle name.

I would further observe that the old Confederacy, particularly Texas, is disproportionately represented in Shepherd's list.
Surely it is some variant of confirmation bias at work, though Shepherd makes a powerful observation when he says, "I suspect that aggressive-personality fathers during the 1950s and 1960s did in fact hopefully and disproportionately name their boys after that era's icon of ruggedness, John Wayne."
Never rule out weirdness, particularly in America, and particularly in Texas. Therefore another shoe may drop in this case, with the flying Texan pimp winding up with blood on his hands, too.
