Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., said he would vote for Bernie Sanders if he attends the Democratic National Convention as a superdelegate.
Sanders was the favorite in Peterson's 7th District during the Minnesota Democratic caucuses on Tuesday, March 1.
"I'm voting my district," Peterson said. "I'm going to vote for Bernie."
Peterson would only get to cast his vote if he attends the national convention July 25-28 in Philadelphia. Although he rarely attends his party's national convention, he said he might this year. As a House member, he automatically becomes a superdelegate.

So far I have not heard this from our others. Except of course Keith Ellison.

(35,639 posts)...to vote for Bernie Sanders.
Republicans hate Hillary Clinton more than they hate Bernie Sanders, because Clinton is a symbol of the Democratic Party.

(1,515 posts)With this, he can remain a DINO but not support Hillary as the nominee.
I'd bet money, his own vote for the president will not be Hillary or Bernie in November, though.

(12,233 posts)to me that a Democratic congressman doesn't go to the conventions for the party he aligns with. He's that much of a DINO, that he doesn't participate every 4 yrs? And people complain that Bernie is Independent!?!?
At least if he does go, he will support his districts wishes. I just wonder how much of a push back from the DNC and insiders on the superdelgates; especially the supers that are actual elected representatives... Those supporting Bernie may face loss of financial support, GOTV support, or the down vote, coattail help (if it's wanted) regional visit by a presidential candidate? Just yesterday I watched a clip posted here from CNN and an interview with Rep Tulsi Gabbard where the news guy asked if she was worried about the blowback from the DNC or The Clintons over her resigning from her DNC position and deciding to support Sen Sanders primary bid. If she is experiencing heavy pushback, and she has state popularity along with media interviews and a former leadership position at the DNC, I can only imagine what some of the lessor known's are facing...
Politics, this year, seems incredibly dirty and selective on the Demicratic side.... Sad when it has been the "people's party" of the past.
