snip> And now McCain has entered the Democratic race for the White House with comments he recently made regarding Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who serves on the Veterans Affairs Committee with McCain:
The fact is we were able to come together and pass legislation that was nearly unanimous in both the House and the Senate, so he does have a record of advocacy for our veterans. To my knowledge, I know of no activity, legislative or otherwise, that Hillary Clinton was engaged in during her time as a United States senator.
McCain made his comments in response to a remark from the former Secretary of State that long delays for vets seeking treatment at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals are not a widespread problem. The Arizona Senator did not mince his words, saying of Clinton: I would say that if Hillary Clinton really believes the comments that she made, I dont see how any veteran who cares about their fellow veterans could possibly have any good things, nor could support her quest for being commander-in-chief.
[The] commander-in-chief not only sends the young men and women into conflicts, but [the] commander-in-chief has an obligation, as Abraham Lincoln so eloquently stated, about our care for the widows and the wounded.

(24,411 posts)Hillary teamed up with John McCain during the 2008 primary, to denigrate Obama.
"Hillary Clinton told reporters that both she and the presumtive Republican nominee John McCain offer the experience to be ready to tackle any crisis facing the country under their watch, but Barack Obama simply offers more rhetoric. "I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say," she said. "He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."
I think McCain's comments underscores the notion that Hillary is so disliked, for so many reasons--by so many disparate groups.
Republicans can't stand her and would crawl through shark-infested waters with bloody steaks strapped to their legs--in order to vote against her.
She polls terribly with Independents.
Half of the Democratic party is not supporting her; and nearly 30 percent of Democrats claim that they will not vote for Clinton if she is the nominee.
This is one of the reasons why Bernie Sanders would be the better nominee. She is held is such low regard by so many. I don't see how she cobbles together a White House victory.

The statue will be behind a curtain.
You have to pay two grand to have a peek.

(651 posts)You think SHE was the reason that NY got that money after 9/11? So, your argument is that if someone else was senator they wouldn't have gotten anything? Or much less? Cause that was what really sold everyone on helping NY then, Hillary Clinton. Without her, we would have bought them a cup of coffee and moved on with life. LOL!

Feeling the Bern
(3,839 posts)of his party and maybe the Democratic experiment known as the United States of America.
Maybe getting close to 1,000 years old made him realize the error of his ways. . .or maybe he is more scared of Cruz or Trump than of Bernie.
Either way, I am proud of my senior senator today. That will probably change the second the SOB opens his mouth again.
