(10,710 posts)are quite a different matter than basic routine disclosure of taxes from those who aspire to be president.
Anyway - Why should she disclose them? Good for Hillary. Got paid well to speak in front of hundreds of people. It's what people do when they can. Imagine - a woman and not an entertainer - commanding big fees.
Does it upset you that a woman gets paid to speak? And just how #secret" do you imagine they are? Hundreds must have been in attendance.
This ridiculous angle is totally bogus
Yes. Good for her.
And meanwhile - where are Bernie's tax returns for the last 5 years starting with 2015?

There were quite a few older guys whose clothing said "MONEY!" standing in line at the PO, their taxes in hand. Not only is a tax program cheaper than a CPA, it also lets you see just what's going on with your money. Those are the reasons I suck it up and do my own.

Bernie and his wife are citizens, like most of the rest of us, who do their taxes and take them to the Post Office when they are due. "Releasing their returns" probably requires that someone goes to their house, pulls them from a file cabinet, copies them and faxes them to someone. He's not someone, like ALL THE REST OF THE CANDIDATES, who can just call up his accountant.
From my POV, I'm thrilled to see a candidate who's in the game because he wants to serve his fellow citizens.

(65,134 posts)Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician and the junior United States senator from Vermont. He is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election. A member of the Democratic Party since 2015,[2] Sanders had been the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, though his caucusing with the Democrats entitled him to committee assignments and at times gave Democrats a majority. Sanders became the ranking minority member on the Senate Budget Committee in January 2015; he had previously served for two years as chair of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.

I doubt that he is. Every measure I've seen says he's not. But even if he were, even if all the reports are wrong, so what? What's the big deal?
Do you feel so bad about your compromised candidate that you have to hunt hunt hunt for any little thing on Bernie? Or, more accurately, any little implication?
Is that it?
Rather than try to play endless games of "blemish" on Bernie, why don't you tell your candidate to clean up her act? Then maybe you'll feel better.

(11,945 posts)Retirement savings are what you have to live off of for the rest of your life after you stop working. Financial advisors tell people to have at least a million saved up in these 401K plans invested in mutual funds. This is normal for middle class earners.
Here's how Bernie stacks up to the Senate average:

Bernie Sanders net worth is shown by the blue bars at the bottom.
The yellow line represents the average net worth of the U.S. senate.
Image source: Center for Responsive Politics
http://moneynation.com/bernie-sanders-net-worth/
As for Hillary -- she made some egregious weapons deals with big weapons manufacturers, third world countries, and huge "Clinton Foundation" donations to grease her palm as SOS. That is NOT normal.
She and her foundation operate in the gray area of the law. She is secretive and plays loose with the rules in a way that only very corrupt politicians do.
You should find a better person to support for president.

Of course, that would be self prepared. Someone has to affix their signature. If it is not self prepared, it means someone else prepared it for you and the tax preparer has to sign the form.
