Obama takes aim at Trump and Republicans at final Correspondents' Dinner

President Barack Obama has taken to the podium for the eighth and final time as president at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, with Donald Trump and the ugly Republican race unsurprisingly the target of most of his jokes.

Obama drew plenty of laughs with his barbed remarks to a ballroom filled with journalists, politicians, and film and television stars.

When he said he couldn’t explain the continuing rise in his popularity, two photographs appeared on ballroom screens: Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Obama said of Donald Trump: “He has spent years meeting with leaders from around the world – Miss Sweden, Miss Argentina, Miss Azerbaijan

1. I had to laugh at the "Trudge up the Hill" slogan and cartoon.

But the follow-up comedian just made me cringe - I eventually had to turn it off.

8. Wilmore's whole shtick is about being black

The President's speech was 1,000% better. Especially dropping the microphone at the end.

of Wilmore's lines.
His references are not a part of their world.
In many instances that includes myself as well.
