Obama takes aim at Trump and Republicans at final Correspondents' Dinner

President Barack Obama has taken to the podium for the eighth and final time as president at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, with Donald Trump and the ugly Republican race unsurprisingly the target of most of his jokes.

Obama drew plenty of laughs with his barbed remarks to a ballroom filled with journalists, politicians, and film and television stars.

When he said he couldn’t explain the continuing rise in his popularity, two photographs appeared on ballroom screens: Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

But the follow-up comedian just made me cringe - I eventually had to turn it off.

The President's speech was 1,000% better. Especially dropping the microphone at the end.

Something about red, I think. Oh, well, I was laughing out loud anyway. His delivery was great. He should do stand-up next, instead of milking Goldman Sachs.
