Donald Trump stirs protesters and the faithful — by the thousands — in Eugene

Source: Oregon Live

The speech was briefly interrupted several times by protesters scattered throughout the crowd. Trump's supporters repeatedly shouted the protesters down, chanting "Trump!" Trump asked that one protester be removed, but the confrontations never escalated to the point of violence.

Outside, at least 200 protesters gathered in Monroe Park, some holding signs inscribed with the Twitter hashtag #DumpTrump. Hundreds more filled West 13th Avenue, blocks from the fairgrounds. Some two dozen police officers seemed scattered throughout.

After the speech, protesters tried to block the gates to keep supporters from leaving. Police, over bullhorns, repeatedly called for protesters to back off and disperse. Four apparent Trump supporters, wearing "Make America Great Again" hats, were in that crowd, making peanut butter sandwiches for each other.

Officers said a few assaults were reported in connection with the event, but that it was more peaceful than they had expected. There weren't any arrests associated with the rally, which drew a crowd of about 4,387 people, Eugene police said in a news release.

Seems an odd choice for a rally (it'll inhibit your ability to make yourself heard), and an even odder thing to do in the middle of a crowd who may not be disposed to like you.

Curiouser and curiouser, mused Alice, as life moved towards the summer conventions.

Maybe they felt protesters would not attack someone holding a knife.

But...oh...supposedly Hill is The Annointed One...the One that doesn't do rallies...the One that loses to tRump in poll after poll.

Thanks for rigging up a system for us to lose, DWS and DNC Elites.
