Tufts urges students to stay indoors amid threat, car fire investigation

Source: Boston Globe

SOMERVILLE — Tufts University canceled exams, closed multiple buildings, and sent non-essential staff home as police investigated an early-morning car fire and a bomb threat.

“Medford/Somerville staff are asked to return home, with the exception of essential employees who are asked to remain on campus. Students are asked to remain in their residences this morning until further notice,’’ the school said in an e-mail sent to staff and students around 9:35 a.m. and posted on the buildings.

“All morning activities, including final exams, are postponed. Pending reopening of the affected buildings, a decision will be made regarding afternoon activities and final exams as soon as possible,’’ officials said.

The shutdowns came after first responders, called to extinguish a car fire, found the threat taped to a door at the school’s health center, according to the school and a student journalist.

but it sounds like someone is wound a little too tightly and wants to postpone a final exam. I went there years ago, and it was a pressure cooker then. It's much, MUCH, worse now.
