Hillary Clinton Mocks Donald Trump Over Not Releasing Tax Returns

BLACKWOOD, N.J. — Hillary Clinton on Wednesday mocked Donald J. Trump as evasive and secretive after he suggested that he would not release his tax returns before the November election, which would be a break with 40 years of political precedent.

But Mr. Trump quickly hit back, saying that he still intended to release his tax returns as soon as a federal audit was completed — and that Mrs. Clinton was hitting him out of desperation.

Mrs. Clinton, at a rally here to open her campaign for the New Jersey primary on June 7, had just begun attacking Mr. Trump’s proposed tax cuts for wealthy Americans when a man in the audience called out, “What about his tax returns?”

Mrs. Clinton, who often ignores catcalls, smiled and said, “We’ll get to that.”

You have alegal obligation to pay taxes. You cansay whatever you want to a private gathering taht is paying ot hear you speak and it's none of the public's business if you're not on the public payroll.

I've heard so many speeches of the kind she likely gave to Goldman Sachs that I simply don't care, because they're generally a bland mix of encouragement, talk about leadership, anecdotes, and a dash of self-reflection...much like the commencement speeches at graduations.

Bernie fans seem to have convinced themselves she did a sales pitch to the death star or something. They have yet to produce any evidence of anything scandalous. My guess is she's going to sit on them for a while longer until the anxiety reaches fever pitch and then release them...and it will be an enormous anticlimax because the speeches will turn out to be the usual boring pablum, and all the people who were insisting they were a huge smoking gun will be relegated to crazy uncle/aunt status for the rest of teh electoral season.
