Trump hints that Fallin and Brewer on VP short list
Source: THE HILL by By Harper Neidig
In an interview with Fox News On the Record, the GOP presumptive nominee was asked about Brewer saying that Fallin was on the list.
Well also Jan. Jan Brewer has been fantastic, he said. She has been so fantastic. You know I won so big, her territory, we won so big. And she is a fabulous woman. And I agree with you, the governor of Oklahoma -- fabulous person.

Plus, I envision rallies with Hulk Hogan standing behind Trump and repeating everything Trump says.

(10,952 posts)so I don't see her upstaging Trump. I think most Oklahomans would be delighted for Trump to take her off of our hands. Given the horrendous state of our budget I would imagine she would be delighted to not have to deal with it.
Now Trump's wife would need to be concerned by Fallin's daughter Christina who might aim to become wife # 4. She is a total flake with the attention span of a gnat (and managed to get married and divorced twice in less then a year and a half). She is currently performing laser cosmetic surgery out of her dad's dental practice office. She also lived for a while in a high end mobile home on the grounds of the Governor's mansion and really wants a reality tv show.

It's hard to say whether "reality" TV and making a xenophobic ass of himself will get him that much support. I just hope he'll drag down whichever of those two horrid women he chooses.

(53,951 posts)I overheard people talking about this in WalMart the other day. They still love her, but she has to "repent." Hell, the new sheriff in Tulsa had all kinds of controversy surrounding him and they voted him in. I rarely watch the news here unless it is after a show I DVR'd, so I only get a few of the top stories. I am in OK too.

(10,952 posts)She got married again before she ran for Governor the first time in order to clean up her family vaues image which was in shreds. She really has not rehabilitated her image. She does not think for herself but does as she is instructed by her religious-right/corporate overlords.
Oklahoma is so religious-right wing that most of the voters are bat shit crazy and constantly vote against their own best interests. We are almost bankrupt and we have a legislature that is continuously focused on unconstitutional laws (which are then defended by the Attorney General's office at taxpayer expense when the inevitable lawsuit is filed). There is no shortage of anti-woman, pro-conservative christian, anti-intellectual, pri-gun and so on legislation that they won't pass.

(53,951 posts)I am watching one disastrous bill after another getting proposed. The state teeters on the edge of bankruptcy and we are heading down the path of Brownback's Kansas. My husband and I are still amazed, despite his being from the this state, how sometimes it is near impossible to distinguish between the democratic candidate and the republican one. Though, I will say it makes voting day much easier because we avoid long lines. With republicans in one line and democrats in the other, I have only had to wait once, and it was behind one other person and my husband.
avebury
(10,952 posts)more registered democrats in Oklahoma than Republicans. Once in a while there will actually be a decent democratic candidate running for office and it is the questionable primary candidate that goes onto the general election.

(53,951 posts)I remember reading that since moving back here. One sure would not guess that to be true! LOL! Yeah, every once in a blue moon, we get a good one, but it is hard to even get your hopes up because it always seems so futile.

(59,501 posts)I know almost nothing about her - in fact, nothing other than that she is Gov of OK. To me the sweep would be like saying that if Clinton chooses someone, they could sweep MA, VT, RI and likely NY.
From some accounts, the danger is if he can get the rust belt states - OH, PA, MI etc that have been either blue or purple in past elections. If he needs to firm up those solid red states, then we are VERY LUCKY -- and it will be a Clinton landslide - in spite of her negatives. (This election is likely to get even weirder and part of it has to be the mood of the country where EVERY possible nominee has been underwater in terms of favorability - even Bernie in the last poll. It will be ugly and I wonder how long it will be before some pollster adds a new question for the segment of the poll that says they don't like either Trump or Clinton - asking who they dislike more - or if who of the two they would vote for or if they will sit it out.)

(53,951 posts)However, I do think they would be squeakers if Trump doesn't get a VP candidate which balances his deficiencies within the right-wing, Fallin would qualify; not sure about Brewer, though she is a whackadoo IMO. Much like the potential problems of people on the democratic side staying home if it is Clinton, the same is true on the republican side in regards to Trump. With both sides being disenchanted with both candidates, it really could be an odd election. Basically, we will see a sea of purple, not red and blue, as in past elections.

(15,536 posts)I happened to catch the beginning of the Today show this morning and who were they interviewing re: Trump? Dan Quayle! I had to laugh out loud (scared the dog) thinking they must be desperate to drag out this old turd trying to promote Trump. I'm a senior and I can't imagine the younger generation of voters even knowing who this jackass is.
Apparently they can't get any current Republicans to come on their show to promote their presumptive jackass candidate, so they're skimming the bottom of the barrel of past Republican losers.

(10,857 posts)"What would we do if that idiot became President?" I remember asking aloud. He was called assassination insurance, because he was so much worse than the actual President.
The national debate swirled around the question, "should a person as mentally incompetent as Dan Quayle be permitted to be the President, or in the line of succession?"
And then we all found out what would happen, from 2001-2009.
After that, Dan Quayle became an elder statesman, a national spokesman for Peter Principle Republicans!
I think Jan Brewer would wind up on the same talking circuit as Quayle if she's picked.
