US Blockade Leads Company to Cut Service to Cuban Embassy in Austria
Havana, May 12 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban embassy in Austria was left out of courier service after the company TNT Osterreich suspended the service, because it was purchased by the US company FedEx Corporation, the Cuban Foreign Ministry denounced today.
The company, which is an affiliate in Austria of TNT Express N.V, reported to the diplomatic entity that it would not receive any more orders from Cuba or other countries that were under US sanctions.
The implementation of such measures against Cuba is illegal in Austria and the European Union in general, warned the foreign ministry on its website Cubaminrex.
The European Council adopted on November 12, 1996, the Rule 2271/96, regarding protection against the effects of the extraterritorial implementation adopted by a third country.
