Clinton wins Kentucky, Sanders takes Oregon, CNN projects

Source: CNN

Hillary Clinton will squeeze out a cliffhanger victory over Bernie Sanders in Kentucky's Democratic primary Tuesday, CNN projects, a result that keeps her on track to win the nomination but also highlights deep divisions in the party.

Clinton won the state by half a percentage point with nearly all the votes counted. She declared victory after Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that "based on what we are seeing coming in, ... Kentucky will remain in a win column for the Clintons."

Clintons are running?

Team Hillary and Bill should be worried. This late in the game she and Bernie fought to a draw in a conservative state that by all rights should have been a cakewalk for her. And she lost Oregon.

June 7 is California. A loss there would be humiliating. Rather than marching truimphantly into the convention, it looks like Hillary will arrive seriously damaged after a bruising primary season that revealed she isn't much liked by nearly half her own party and scores of independents.

The Guardian is reporting Clinton 46.8%, Sanders 46.3%. That's 6.9% voting for others (or spoiling their ballots?). That seems a lot at this stage.
