George Zimmerman has been making headlines for auctioning off the gun he used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin.

Now the weapon has sold for more than $120,000 on UnitedGunGroup.com.

TMZ reported that seven verified users were bidding for the gun. The identity of the winning bidder remains unknown, as is the exact final selling price.

Per TMZ, United Gun Group initially pulled the listing due to fake bids driving up the price. One fake bidder with the username "Racist McShootface" submitted a $65 million bid.

It's a mass-produced sub-par at best gun that anybody with more sense than Zimmerman could sell as the "actual" weapon involved about as many times as his medieval forebears sold the"actual" skull of John the Baptist, raising far more than this splashy windfall over time had he chosen a less overtly public route.
