MarineTraffic, a shipping tracking website, has put together an updated video on the ships joining the search in the Mediterranean for the missing plane.



Greek aircraft have joined the sea search for the missing plane, according to the BBC’s Quentin Sommerville.

Another Greek C-130 is also heading to the area as well the frigate Nikiforos Fokas. A helicopter (1 Super Puma) is also on its way. 2/2

There has been an unconfirmed report that the plane came down 130 miles off the Greek Island of Karpathos.

Therefore, the U.S. Embassy encourages U.S. citizens to read the existing Turkey Travel Warning and Security Messages to ensure you are following best practices for personal safety,” the Embassy said in a statement issued on its website.

It also urged citizens to monitor the media for developments linked to the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) upcoming extraordinary congress, which will be held in Ankara on May 22.

“U.S. Embassy Ankara also informs U.S. citizens that the AK Party will be holding a congress on May 22, 2016 at the Ankara Arena located near Gençlik Park and Ulus Metro. The congress will begin at 10:00 AM and last throughout the day. We remind citizens to monitor the media for any developments related to disturbances or demonstrations associated with the congress. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence,” the Embassy said.

An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo made two sharp turns before plunging into the Mediterranean Sea, Greece's defence minister says.

Sixty-six people were on board, most of them from Egypt or France.

alive with his own nice big (wink wink) plane with my name in big letters down the side.A lot of my friends have enjoyed rides on my plane.

This is a tragedy, at least for the non-Muslims, and if I can do anything about it once I am President, I will. But let me tell you, I think, and I know that my thinking is some of the best in the world, I think Muslims shouldn't be allowed to fly in planes at all. And I would ban carpets too. 18. If the fuselage opens at 37 000 they have less than a minute of useful consciousness.

Batteries being shipped, oxy containers that weren't emptied, an electrical short from a bad connection...lots of reasons that don't involve hate.

Unless there was someone famous or important on board, it wouldn't seem like more than a run-of-the-mill target for terrorism, and dropping them in the middle of the ocean takes away a lot of the thunder of a criminal, so it seems more likely to be an unexpected failure.
