Homeopathic practitioner hacked to death in Bangladesh
Source: Deutsche Welle
A homeopathic doctor was hacked to death by machete-wielding attackers in western Bangladesh on Friday. A university professor was also badly wounded in what police suspect to be the latest attack by Islamic militants against people of different beliefs in the majority-Muslim country.
Sanaur Rahman, who ran a homeopathic medical clinic, was riding a motorcycle in the town of Kushtia with his friend Saif uz Zaman on Friday morning when at least three men, also on a motorbike, blocked their path and launched an attack.
A bloody machete was found at the scene of the attack, 150 miles (245 km) west of the capital, Dhaka. Initial reports varied on Rahman's age, putting him at either 58 or 55, while Zaman was reportedly 45.
Rahman was on his way to a free weekly clinic he operated when the attack occurred.

(2,841 posts)...then those poor oppressed jihadi militants wouldn't have hacked that man to death.
...Those "poor oppressed jihadi militants" are being FORCED to attack almost anyone for anything on nearly a daily basis all due to the policies of the West, especially US Policy...One must feel extreme sorrow for the Jihadis under such Islamophobic pressure they don't have much choice!

Especially if this homeopathic practitioner weighed the same as a duck.
So criticism of cultural practices cannot be tolerated.
(also sarcasm, sort of, because actual criticism will earn a "hide"

(6,045 posts)I'm guessing the Christians in the 14th century would've went with the human bonfire or the slow death by torture rather than death by a thousand machete cuts for some homeopathic practitioner...Especially if he weighed the same as a duck!

The Islamic State group (IS) said it was behind the killing of a homeopath in western Bangladesh on Friday.
Mir Sanwar Rahman was hacked to death by three attackers with machetes riding a motorbike in Kushia district.
His friend, university tutor Mohammad Saifuzzaman, was seriously injured in the same attack.
There has been a series of murders of religious minorities, secular activists and academics in Bangladesh in recent months.
Both of the men attacked on Friday were said to be followers of the mystic tradition of Baul music, seen as heretical by some Muslims.
