A State Department Inspector General report said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton failed to follow the rules or inform key department staff regarding her use of a private email server, according to a copy of the report obtained by CNN on Wednesday.
The report, which was provided to lawmakers, states, "At a minimum, Secretary Clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department business before leaving government service and, because she did not do so, she did not comply with the Department's policies that were implemented in accordance with the Federal Records Act."
The report examined record keeping laws, policies and practices at the State Department from 1997 to present.

(4,423 posts)to nominate Bernie Sanders as the Democratic nominee and win in November.... If she is allowed to steal the nomination these type of reports are going to sink her in the GE... People don't want a crook in the White House no matter how bad the option of Trump would be..... she is untrustworthy a sneak and a liar who fails to follow the rules... America does not need a Queen....
Any normal person under this much scrutiny and causing this much angst in her own party would have the common decency to suspend her campaign and climb aboard the Sanders Political Revolution....

(20,863 posts)She hasn't stolen, cheated anyone, or committed fraud. She merely used a private server for her email. but not for personal gain. It may be embarrassing, but I don't believe there's even a federal law against that.
Nixon was famously a crook for cheating on his taxes.
I know you love Bernie with all your heart, but that shouldn't make Hillary Clinton an enemy of the state in your eyes. It causes you to say things that are ridiculous.

The GOPee will have a field day, that's for sure.

(1,083 posts)Since she is the "overwhelming frontrunner" as her supporters say...constantly. Her mistakes are going to hurt the effort to defeat Trump. No matter if she doesn't make it to the GE. And that hurts all of us.
DWS, Sen. Boxer, et al. tied their train to a boxcar of nitroglycerin. If it explodes it damages everybody.

(1,145 posts)involved in overthrowing a leader in Libya then arranging the transfer weapons to al-Qa'ida-affiliated thugs/mercenaries in Syria, it's best to try and keep it hidden from public view. Since both Republicans and Democrats back this sort of geopolitical violence, I doubt much will be made publicly about what Hillary was doing as SoS. It appears she was following in the blood-soaked footsteps of her mentor Henry Kissinger.

(9,314 posts)In that arena, she continued to deal with Sidney Blumenthal, who Obama had banned from his administration from Day 1. Hillary had been informed of this. Since Blumenthal could not be put on the State Department payroll for the work and subsequent advice he gave Hillary, it was arranged for him to become a Clinton Foundation employee. Some of that advice Hillary assumed as her own position on matters, and she carried those positions to the President's Office. I have long wondered how he felt when he found out she was against his rules dealing with Blumenthal. I assume he must have been livid.

(1,145 posts)A lot of them are to or from Sidney Blumenthal. You can get a feel for what kind of person he is by reading a few of them.

(9,314 posts)whom President Obama had forbidden to be involved in his administration from Day 1. Hillary Clinton was specifically informed of this, but she continued to interact with Blumenthal who had no classified security clearance and to recommend his advice.
This is the only thing I will guote now because there simply is no question this happened, and I want to go back to other issues being discussed right now. But you can find the emails on the internet if you like and read them for yourself.

(1,145 posts)He made a serious mistake appointing her head of the State Department and I think in the interview he gave this year when he stated that his biggest mistake was not handling Libya well, he was subtly criticizing the horrible advice he got from Hillary and her people. I don't think he was too thrilled with her service after that first term and was probably glad to be done with her.
There is a foreign policy "industry" or "establishment" now who take presidents (or presidential candidates) under their wing and convince them to follow the neoconservative/neoliberal paradigm that we've always followed. This is why Hillary scares me (she's been an active member and follow of this establishment), and why both Trump and Bernie scare the foreign policy establishment (although I believe Trump's stupidity will eventually see him yielding foreign policy decisions to the establishment people).
These emails are pretty interesting - going to spend some time reading though as many as I can.
Samantha
(9,314 posts)discussing his biggest mistake. I immediately thought of Hillary and Blumenthal.
I found the email I read somewhat interesting but some I found some jaw dropping. The most serious breaches have been reported but are not so much a matter of great discussion here. I want to repeat that phrase -- some of these matters are jaw dropping. You should read them for yourself.

(7,260 posts)Stephen Vladek, a law professor at American University in Washington, said the findings by the Office of Inspector General are "deeply consistent with what most legal experts have long suspected -- that Secretary Clintons use of a private e-mail server to conduct official business was inconsistent with internal State Department guidelines."
"Critically, though, the OIG report does not appear to conclude that any of Secretary Clintons actions were unlawful under either federal records preservation laws or criminal statutes," said Vladek, who specializes in constitutional and national-security law.

(8,254 posts)have existed within the Office of the Secretary that go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary ofState. OIG recognizes that technology and Department policy have evolved considerably since
Secretary Albrights tenure began in 1997. Nevertheless, the Department
generally and the Office of the Secretary in particular have
been slow to recognize and to manage effectively the legal requirements
and cyber security risks associated with electronic data communications,
particularly as those risks pertain to its most senior leadership. OIG expects that its
recommendations will move the Department steps closer to meaningfully addressing these risks."

(1,145 posts)she is a corrupt and dishonest individual, and her lack of integrity has nothing to do with right-wing smear attempts.
The Republicans didn't force her to use a private server for government business, she did that on her own. And saying two other corrupt Secretaries of State did it is really not very reassuring.
