New Mexico's Governor Fires Back at Trump, Won't Be 'Bullied' Into Endorsement
Source: ABC News
After Donald Trump slammed New Mexico's Republican Gov. Susana Martinez during a raucous rally in Albuquerque Tuesday night, her office is firing back.
Gov. Martinez doesnt care about what Donald Trump says about her. She cares about what he says he will do to help New Mexicans, Martinezs press secretary, Mike Lonergan, told ABC News in a statement. Shes disappointed that she didnt hear anything about that last night.
Trump went after Martinezs record during his New Mexico rally, quipping in jest that maybe he should run for governor of the state and get this place going.
Youve got to get your governor to do a better job. Shes not doing her job, he said. He went on to say, Syrian refugees are being relocated in large numbers to New Mexico. If I was governor, that wouldnt be happening.

I guess Trump is going all-in and catering to male gender resentment by picking a fight with a Republican Latina Governor who had previously been haled as an example as to why the GOP was neither racist or sexist. Instead, Trump accuses of not doing her job in appearing at his rally.

(17,382 posts)Unfortunately, the whole Megyn Kelley situation did not help matters. He was incredibly demeaning and sexist toward her. yet Fox News ultimately threw her under the bus with Megyn Kelley going out of her way to interview him at which time he minimized his comments toward her by saying that she had been called worse.
So, it will be interesting to see if Don the Douche's routine works again. Act in a sexist, insulting manner toward a woman, and wait until he gets his way.
