Wasserman Schultz fights to keep her job
Source: The Hill
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) is fighting to stay on as head of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) amid a roiling debate within her party about whether she should step aside before the Democratic National Convention in July.
Wasserman Schultzs future as DNC chairwoman was called into question late Tuesday after The Hill reported that senators have privately discussed whether she should resign. Some argue such a move could mollify supporters of Bernie Sanders after a bitter primary fight against Hillary Clinton.
Wasserman Schultz and her allies say shes served as an impartial umpire in the Clinton-Sanders race ...
But even some lawmakers who support Clinton think Wasserman Schultz has shown favoritism. They say that has made it more difficult to unify the party ...
But some Democrats wonder how easy it will be to get the spotlight off Wasserman Schultz at the convention if Sanders backers are still riled up by late July.
The role of the DNC chair is always a supportive role, not a starring role, and I think that, because of what has occurred, its hard for her to avoid a starring role, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.)

The blindness of some Democrats to go all F. A. Hayek on socialism, which is a foundation of most programs.
Keep denigrating that term, just for the sole purpose of affecting one candidate, that will have future repercussions.
Down the road, anyone proposing grand programs will be called a socialist, since Dems will even view it negatively.

(9,141 posts)She wants the money corporate people to run the party of the people. She used her position to make sure fairness was replaced by obstruction and name recognition. She has history of channeling party funds to support corporatist DINOs over progressive for the people candidates.. Let her join the republican party...it suits her better...but keep her far away from democratic party control.

Despot Deb has a bright future as a corrupter of governance working on K St. if she wants it.

(9,141 posts)She shoots her mouth off before she understands the facts or the situation at times. Her support of Bush's war legislation on the surge but now is pushing some good legislation. Husband has made a fortune off the government contracts in housing for the poor...even sounds like a Clinton. "Government has been berry good to me". Government should never be used to enrich ones self and family without enriching everyone else as well. Oh where do the millions come from?

(3,544 posts)to start letting the establishment know, we're not going to take this stupid shit anymore. Just go back and look at the last 6 years, especially around election time. She has been absolutely terrible in uniting the democrats. Her record proves it. Why do you think we lost in 14?

(1,786 posts)Wants to avoid a convention that goes completely south they had better replace her now. Not only has she shown that she is completely bias to one candidate she has also shown to be ill suited for the job. The number of state seats and governorships lost over the last couple of election cycles clearly demonstrates that DWS is not qualified to lead the DNC.

(342 posts)we are getting through that and now we will fight and fight hard to retake the democratic party. It is long past time to kick the DINOs out and replace them with true progressives. Bernie has awakened the left and we won't tolerate the corporatists any longer. The resignation of DWS is a good start, but its hardly all that needs to be done.

maybe you aren't really concerned about the health of the Democratic Party...and like the direction it has pursued the past 20 years...
