White officer cleared in hospital death of black woman

Joe Reedy, Associated Press
Updated 3:55 pm, Friday, May 27, 2016

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The white police officer who handcuffed a black woman outside a Florida hospital where she died less than two hours later will not face charges.

Glenn Hess, state attorney for Florida's 14th Judicial Circuit, has completed his review of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's investigative summary. In a letter to FDLE Special Agent Travis Lawson, Hess said his office found Blountstown police officer John Tadlock's actions in the arrest of 57-year-old Barbara Dawson were "appropriate under the circumstances and there was no criminal law violation."

. . .

Tadlock was dispatched to Calhoun-Liberty Hospital on Dec. 21 after Dawson refused to leave the emergency room. Dawson was discharged because she didn't feel well. In dashcam audio and video that was released in January, Tadlock told Angela Donar, who is Dawson's aunt and also in the room, "she can walk out peacefully or be arrested."

After refusing to seek health care elsewhere, Dawson was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing. The oxygen hose was disconnected and Tadlock walked Dawson out of the facility to the police car, holding her by the arm and nudging her along.

Documents: Officer tried put woman in car after collapse

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A police officer tried to put a woman into a patrol car after she collapsed at a hospital, believing that she was "making herself dead weight" to avoid going to jail, according to a police report released Monday. The woman, 57-year-old Barbara Dawson, died about 90 minutes later at Liberty-Calhoun Hospital. The state law enforcement department and the state's health care agency have launched investigations.Dawson was initially brought to the hospital on Dec. 21 by ambulance after complaining of abdominal pain. She was treated, but became unruly when she was discharged because she didn't think she was OK to be released. After refusing multiple requests to leave, she was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing, police said. Officer John Tadlock said he attempted to remove Dawson's oxygen hose but she refused to let him to take it. The officer was eventually able to get it out and handcuffed Dawson, with the help of a paramedic, according to the report.

So telling her to "seek treatment elsewhere" was a death sentence from the very beginning.

Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City is about 50 miles away. Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley - another small local hospital - is about the same distance. Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee is even farther.

Evicting her from the emergency room was what killed her. The actions of the cop just facilitated that homicide.

Governor of Florida, Scott, a 14 time felon. Stole from Medicare for millions of dollars in Texas. The Republicans transferred him to Florida to cover his felon record and the crazies elected him. The Republicans did the same with a 2 time charged rapist too. Got moved from Florida to Idaho and got elected to the state senate. His criminal record was hidden. This guys background was discovered during a gun purchase he made. Of course he got the gun, because lawmakers in Idaho are exempt from those laws. But he was forced to resign when his criminal record become public.
The we have the House Leader in Chicago, going to prison, as of yet no Republicans has spoke out about that. Why not Speaker Ryan or any other House member.

Republicans support the criminals.
