Hillary Clinton’s brother-in-law Roger Clinton busted for DUI in California two days before primary

Source: New York Daily News

"Headache" has struck again — just in time for the California primary.

Hillary Clinton's troubled brother-in-law, Roger Clinton, was busted in southern California Sunday night on suspicion of DUI, just two days before the state's high-stakes primary.

Roger Clinton — who earned the Secret Service codename "Headache" for his antics during President Bill Clinton's administration —was held on $15,000 bail. He is due in court on Monday, a police spokeswoman told the Daily News.

Clinton, 59, was arrested in Redondo Beach around 8 p.m. after a civilian reported him for "erratic" driving, police said. After field sobriety tests, he was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence. But he refused all chemical testing in jail, police said.

Just before leaving office in January 2001, Bill Clinton pardoned Roger Clinton, who was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty in 1985 to conspiring to distribute cocaine.

And how would it be "convenient" in her way of expressing things? That was used in response to fortuitous events benefiting a politician. This is hardly that.

forced the booze down his throat, then made him go for a drive. Sorry, I have very little sympathy for drunk drivers, especially the ones who think their name will protect them.

On edit: that being said, this is not HRC's problem. The guy has been a loose cannon for a long time

New York has a grant research project that would blow your mind with realtime data collection with cameras, phones data, etc. (like a Morgan Freeman scene in a Batman film.) Now that we move data as fast as we do... equipping a cop car with OCR (plate readers) is only logical... a little scary... still logical.

You might enjoy Werner Herzog's new film:

Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Interconnected World.

Saw it at Cinetopia in Detroit...the doc goes over the Internet and what it means for us -- now and in the future.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/11/us/politics/tony-rodhams-ties-invite-scrutiny-forhillary-and-bill-clinton.html

On and off for two decades, the affable Mr. Rodham has tried to use his connections with his sister and his brother-in-law, former President Bill Clinton, to further a business career that has seen more failures than successes. The connections to the Clintons have given Mr. Rodham, a self-described “facilitator,” a unique appeal and a range of opportunities, like addressing Chinese investor conferences and joining an advisory board of a company seeking permission to mine for gold in Haiti.

But his business dealings have often invited public scrutiny and uncomfortable questions for the Clintons as Mr. Rodham has cycled through a variety of ventures, leveraging his ties to them and sometimes directly seeking their help.

When Mr. Clinton worked as a co-chairman of Haiti’s earthquake recovery commission, Mr. Rodham and his partners sought a $22 million deal to rebuild homes in the country. In court proceedings three years ago in an unrelated lawsuit, Mr. Rodham explained how “a guy in Haiti” had “donated” 10,000 acres of land to him and described how he had leaned on Mr. Clinton to get the rebuilding project funded amid bureaucratic delays.

Lame. The number of people who commit DUI is staggering, and is not predicted on their wealth or lack of it. Or their power or lack of it. The number of people who drink and drive and don't get caught is even greater. The phenomenon is much more reflective of our society and human behavior than politics and perceived entitlement.

And I am hardly a fan of the Clintons, but Roger Clinton
getting into trouble is what he does and we have known
this since the 1990's.

He may be Bill's brother, but is he close enough to Hillary
to matter?

wouldn't it have been just as appropriate to call him President Clintons brother. As far as I know he's more famous or infamous of the two. I dunno.
