‘1,000 deaths is too good for you’: Serial British pedophile receives 22 life sentences

Source: Washington Post

By Peter Holley June 6 at 3:02 PM

When it came to sexually abusing children, Richard Huckle proudly fashioned himself an expert. The Christian schoolteacher from England was so adept at taking advantage of impoverished children in Malaysia and Cambodia, he bragged online that he had authored a how-to guide for others to follow in his footsteps, according to the BBC.

"Impoverished kids are definitely much easier to seduce than middle-class Western kids," Huckle wrote in an online post cited by the BBC. "I still plan on publishing a guide on this subject sometime.” "I'd hit the jackpot," he commented on another occasion, "a 3yo girl as loyal to me as my dog and nobody seemed to care."

When it came to preying on vulnerable children, investigators say, few have done it with more ruthless planning than Huckle. When he was finally arrested in 2014 after eight years of terror, prosecutors accused him of raping and abusing nearly two-dozen children ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years, the BBC reported. Police believe the total number of children victimized by Huckle is actually more than 200.

On Monday, a British judge referred to the 60-page guide titled “Pedophiles & Poverty: Child Lover Guide” as a "truly evil document," according to the BBC. Judge Peter Rook then sentenced the 30-year-old to 22 life terms, of which he will serve a minimum of 25 years behind bars for committing 71 offenses against children, the BBC reported. "It is very rare indeed that a judge has to sentence sexual offending by one person on such a scale as this," Rook said.

So, not 22 life sentences. We incarcerate too many people for too long. Other countries incarcerate too few people for not long enough. Somewhere in between is the ideal, I suppose.

... and among sexual predators, pedophiles have an even higher rate. Huckle should be castrated; preferably with a rusty spoon, but at least chemically. When this malignant waste of skin gets out at 55, he'll go to afterburners and cut a wide swath through the population of disadvantaged children, and it is a statistical certainty that he will escalate to murder if he isn't stopped. Then those who clutched their pearls at the thought of denutting this fucker can whine, "But how were we to know he'd do it again?"

That's exactly what happened here in 2008, and now a sweet young girl is dead because some sanctimonious assholes thought they knew best. They didn't. And it was her fucking UNCLE that killed her!

There is some grim satisfaction in knowing that "Short Eyes" - prison slang for child molesters - do not do well in gen pop. They frequently die.

I'm assuming this guy will be on the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life and even on release in his 50's he'll be observed closely.

His passport can be revoked and he can be ordered to report to police on a regular basis and inform them of any change of address.

I can safely say that if he survives prison, that the UK tabloids will keep an even closer eye on him on release.

In short, his life as he knew it is over and this is a good thing.

Unusual, and of course he will be eligible for parole sooner...but at least the judge did the best he could with the sentencing options he had.

People like this are either sociopaths or mentally ill and don't know what they are doing, and I seriously doubt the second in this case (or most of these cases). I understand pedophiles don't choose this affliction, they are born with it...just like sociopaths are born with it, but we need to protect society from people with genetic problems, or mental conditions that cause them to prey on the vulnerable in society. I don't want them put in prison to be abused. I want them locked away in a safe facility where they cannot hurt anyone.

I think we need to have remote island facilities for pedophiles (who cannot control their actions) to live on, like we used to do with people with Leprosy (who were NOT social menaces).

the 25 year minimum term means that he can't apply for licence until that 25 year term is expired - a life sentance in the UK means that regardless of the time you serve in prison, any release is 'on licence': firstly you have to prove that you are no longer a danger, and secondly any break of the conditions of that licence mean that you are returned to prison.

as someone else has mentioned, he will be on the sex offenders register for life - this means he has to inform the police of where he lives, what he does for a living, what car he drives. the probation service can place additional conditions on his licence such as banning him from the internet, telephones, living or being near schools, having children in his property, engaging in particular jobs, and even place curfews on him with electronic tagging. for life.

i think it remarkably unlikely that he will be released at the 25 year point, i wouldn't be that surprised if he ends his days as the UK's longest serving prisoner...

He put a lot of thought and effort into finding the most vulnerable victims he could, in countries without a strong legal infrastructure. He masqueraded as a caring adult.

And he was eager to pass on his "expertise" to other predators.

In short, he is the worst of the worst people on the planet.

Govt must take care of 23 children Huckle abused

FMT Reporters | June 3, 2016

Child-focused NGO urges Malaysian government to provide proper medical and psychological care to victims of Richard Huckle.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian government must ensure that proper medical and psychological care is made freely available to the 23 children and families who were exploited and sexually abused by Richard Huckle.

This was a statement made by non-governmental organisation World Vision Malaysia (WVM), after Richard Huckle admitted in court yesterday to committing 71 of 91 charges of sexually abusing 23 children from mainly poor communities in Kuala Lumpur.

WVM CEO K J Abraham said it was “imperative” that the children were provided with the care and protection they needed, for as long as they needed it.

“These children and families were already in a fragile and vulnerable situation when Huckle identified and abused them. His damaging actions could well have destroyed their psychological, social and mental fibre, and the subsequent media and public attention may trigger further traumatic experiences.
