Southern California rocked by earthquake

LOS ANGELES -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 rocked Southern California, rousing residents out of bed at about 4 a.m. PT.

The quake was centered near Borrego Springs in the desert east of Los Angeles, the U.S. Geological Service reported.

Felt it on the west side of LA. Looks like a pair of 5+ on the San Andreas.

Really, I remember the two different times I was stationed in California and the earthquakes while living there. I met my wife in Irvine/Tustin area. I remember clearly being up late at night and see my aquirium start to slosh around. I would rush to the kids room and holler at my wife to get up. She would always be annoyed at me because by the time I had both kids and her up it would always be over. Then it was just me freaked out with two very cranky kids and an even crankier wife.

probably about 50 miles from it and while it woke me up, I didn't even get me out of bed because I'm so tired from writing term papers for the last 2 weeks.
