Clinton: U.S. must protect national security, not demonize Muslims

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, speaking on Monday after the massacre in a Florida nightclub, said the United States must find a way to keep the country safe without demonizing Muslim Americans.

Clinton called for "statesmanship, not partisanship" in the aftermath of the shooting in Orlando while Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, urged the monitoring of mosques in the United States and reiterated his calls for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country.

"We cannot demonize, demagogue and declare war on an entire religion. That is just dangerous," Clinton said on the MSNBC network.

She also called for steps to prevent people who are on the U.S. no-fly list from purchasing guns and said possible restrictions on assault weapons needed to be part of the debate.

today. I don't believe they are mentally ill. They are following what I understand to be the tenants of the religion:

1. kill homosexuals
2. stone adulterers to death
3. kill apostates.
4. islam is the only true religion, so anyone who is not a muslim should be killed.

No one ever has told me this is a wrong interpretation. They just deflect and point to some other Holy book. Guess what? It wasn't Christians or Buddhists or Hindus who blew up innocent people at the Boston Marathan and just slaughtered people in Orlando. Brussels and Paris before that. Cartoonists before that. And sadly, the list can go on and on.

Maria thinks ...what she wants but not everyone will agree. FYI Christians are trained in camps to kill. Muslims do not have a market on this. In addition, hundreds of thousands of our troops have been trained to kill and when their target is brown people or Muslims they do that. Our actions in the ME have stirred this hornets nest to a frenzy. Until we stop and repair the damage we have done, the hate that we create will continue to come home to us.

I am not saying that mentally ill people are killers, but killers that attack innocent people are mentally ill.
