Clinton: I'll say the words 'radical Islamism'

Source: CNN

CNN) — Hillary Clinton said Monday she's not afraid to say "radical" Islam as she countered attacks from Donald Trump that she's too politically correct to use the phrase. "From my perspective, it matters what we do more than what we say," Clinton said on CNN's "New Day." "And it mattered we got bin Laden, not what name we called him. I have clearly said we -- whether you call it radical jihadism or radical Islamism, I'm happy to say either. I think they mean the same thing."

Clinton -- who also reupped her call to restore the assault weapons ban -- was forceful in dismissing Republicans' criticism -- vocally echoed by Trump -- that President Barack Obama and Democrats won't describe such terror attacks as "radical Islamic terrorism."

Clinton's comments went further than she has before in the language she uses to describe radical Islam and swiftly undercut one of Trump's central lines of attack against her regarding the fight against terrorism. Her interview Monday morning also notably separated the former Secretary of State from Obama's approach -- in his remarks from the White House on Sunday about the massacre, he never used the words "radical Islam" and he's made it a point not to do so in similar past domestic attacks.

But some people view any concession as defeat and the only way to true victory as defiance.

"Fasten your seat belt" can become a cause for defiance, with splatting into the windshield the sign of true victory. Some outgrow it by age 10, others by age 15, others by age 20 or 25. Some never outgrow it, but make it from a flaw into a feature. And some support their knee-jerk defiance as virtue.

People that think think 27,000 dead at the end gun a year, like Clinton, deserve my derision. Pretending that that deserves praise and is a reason to vote for someone is IMO also worthy of sarcasm and derision.

Saying that crafting policies which leave 27,000 dead a year means you care is beyond ridiculous.

He thought she didn't, and wouldn't. TRUMP WAS WRONG HERE.

It's a game of credibility, legitimacy.

and this is such an instance

Making his criticism moot reduces his power

He will try to cling to her on other issues, and she must push him
away by clearly defining them

I think she is well prepared for debates on issues, more so than Obama
or her husband. Bill was vague at times

Remember these 2 chestnuts of wisdom?

https://twitter.com/hillaryclinton/status/667371059885301761

Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism."

-------------------------------

Hillary Clinton staked her presidential campaign Thursday on the curious claim that 'radical jihadism' is not a byproduct of Islam."

Hillary hammers 'obsession' with the words 'radical Islamic terrorism' as she insists 'Muslims ... have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3325645/Hillary-hammers-obsession-words-radical-Islamic-terrorism-insists-Muslims-whatsoever-terrorism.html#ixzz4BTQIozDW

Clinton instead referred repeatedly to 'radical jihadism' as a global scourge, but didn't explain how the concept of jihadism is consistent with the notion that adherents of the world's second largest religion are uninvolved.
Blaming 'radical Islamic terrorism' for vicious attacks of the sort that killed 129 people last Friday in Paris, she said, 'is not just a distraction.'
Affiliating them with a religion, Clinton insisted, 'gives these criminals, these murderers, more standing than they deserve and it actually plays into their hands by alienating partners we need by our side.'

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point

Of course the underlying tenants of bigotry homophobia misogyny of pretty much all religion. Deserves constant pushback.

However there is a real distinction between:

- extremists who murder 'infidel' gays and abortion providers

- moderates who don't murder anybody.

version of it.
As a rule, there version and their gods are the only "right" one. Failure to worship there gods, from their religious text, will result in an eternity of pain and suffering and those that don't follow and obey their gods deserve that eternity of suffering and pain.

The Old Testament, the foundation for three of the largest religions, is full of rape, incest and murder, most on a genocidal scale and most of it at the command or action of their gods.

Religion, of any kind, is bathed in blood. From the most moderate and humble to the most radical, all not only desire my eternal pain and suffering, they demand it.
