Family of policeman taken hostage near Paris

Source: News.com.au

A MAN was shot dead during a dramatic police operation in the Paris suburbs, hours after he had stabbed a top police officer to death and then killed his wife, authorities said.

A woman’s body was found in the house in Magnanville, northwest of Paris, where the man had been holed up for hours, interior ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said.

A three-year-old boy was found in the house “in shock but unharmed,” a prosecutor added.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve expressed his “infinite sadness” at the death of the police officer and his partner.
The motives behind the attack are unclear but according to witnesses the suspect, who is the neighbour of the victims, reportedly shouted “Allah Akbar”, reported Le Parisien.

The slain police officer was stabbed nine times in the abdomen outside the property as he returned home.
Le Parisien reported that the attacker tweeted he had killed the woman, prompting the police raid.

Ugly. Just Ugly.

Another bizarre instance where the killer was tweeting (or phoning) while he was doing his murders.

Police officer and wife killed in knife attack in Paris suburb before officers shoot dead suspect

A French police officer and his wife, who worked for the Ministry of the Interior, have been killed in knife attacks by an unknown assailant, who has now been shot dead by police after a tense stand off in the family home.

The couple's three-year-old son was caught up in the hostage situation which followed but was found unharmed when police stormed the house, in the Paris suburb of Magnanville on Monday night.

One of the victims, named in in local media as Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, deputy chief of judicial police at Les Mureaux police station, was killed first at around 8pm.

Mr Salvaing, aged 42, was returning home, out of uniform, when he was stabbed nine times in the abdomen, reported Le Figaro newspaper.

And die for it.

It's like a public diary, no holds barred.

They ignore the criticism, but bask in the support and validation they get. They can't live without it. They need constant confirmation.
