CIA chief: IS working to send operatives to the West

CIA Director John Brennan will tell Congress on Thursday that Islamic State militants are training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks on the West and will rely more on guerrilla-style tactics to compensate for their territorial losses.

In remarks prepared for the Senate Intelligence Committee, Brennan says IS has been working to build an apparatus to direct and inspire attacks against its foreign enemies, as in the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels — ones the CIA believes were directed by IS leaders.

"ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West," Brennan said, using another acronym for the group. He said IS probably is working to smuggle them into countries, perhaps among refugee flows or through legitimate means of travel.

Brennan also noted the group's call for followers to conduct so-called lone-wolf attacks in their home countries. He called last week's attack in Orlando a "heinous act of wanton violence" and an "assault on the values of openness and tolerance" that define the United States as a nation.

Brennan is describing trump to a "T"
The threat of homegrown right wing terrorism is the real threat not so called "radical Islamic terrorism" that we hear over and over from the reich-wing.
Our country is awash in military weapons, we have allowed a monster to form in our midst. Heavily armed monsters with a chip on their shoulder now with an inspirational voice in Trump.
I put the responsibility for the tragedy in Orlando squarely on the shoulders of Trump.
Trump is doubly dangerous for the reason he inspires hate and violence from his millions of followers. Trump inspires a backlash from those he demonizes, the Orlando violence is a direct reaction to the hateful rhetoric spewed by Trump regarding immigrants and Muslim immigrants in particular.
Trump must be stopped, if he takes his hate tour all the way to Cleveland we will see violence in the streets worse than anything in our history. Obama must find a way to derail the Trump campaign, hopefully a RICO charge is coming in the case against Trump University. Any criminal charges would immediately bring an exit from the race by trump ending this embarassing episode in American politics.

The violent cannot ever claim moral high ground.

Brennan sounds like the fearmongering Southern plantation owners after slaves were freed.

The lone wolves surround and run among us. Then, because our slavery was wrong, and now, because our international policies have been wrong.

This just feeds into the Strong Man tribal politics of Herr Trump.
