CNN staff revolts over Corey Lewandowski hire

Source: NY Post

June 24, 2016 | 9:38pm

Ivanka Trump isn’t the only one who doesn’t want Corey Lewandowski around.

Sources told Page Six on Friday that CNN’s “facing a near internal revolt” over Jeff Zucker’s hiring of Lewandowski as an exclusive commentator for the news network days after he was fired as Donald Trump’s campaign manager.

“CNN is facing a near internal revolt over the Corey hiring,” said a TV insider, who described many in the newsroom as “livid.” “Female reporters and producers especially . . . They are organizing and considering publicly demanding” that Lewandowski be let go.

The Post reported on Monday that the Donald’s daughter Ivanka gave her dad an ultimatum to cut Corey loose after she was distressed by news he’d grabbed reporter Michelle Fields by the arm at a Florida event, and by a Page Six report that he recently got into a shouting match on a Midtown street with campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks.

or any other 24 hr cable "newz" network since the conclusion of 2004 presidential election. Not one of them offers anything that even remotely resembles actual news. Now I'm thinking I may start watching CNN tomorrow just so I can boycott them all over again for hiring this festering tool bag.

20. I used to watch bits of CNN International
Sat Jun 25, 2016, 08:51 AM
Jun 2016

There were five incidents/events that ended my watching them

1. When PM Rudd gave his famous apology to the Aboriginal People in Australia, CNN treated us to a small screen shot of the live feed from the floor of the Parliament in Canberra, while we listened to their talking heads tell us what he was saying. I turned over to ABC (Asia-Pacific TV) in Australia and watched and listened to the then-PM give the apology

2. The idiot who used to read people's tweets live on air

3. When CNN-International showed us the live coverage at the Hilton Compound as they waited for Paris Hilton to come out to be escorted to jail -- International News my ass

4. Sohn's horrible interview with then President Lee Myeong Bak. She asked him so many fluff questons I wanted to wretch

5. When the bridge collapsed in Minnesota, it happened on the same day that there was a huge train wreck in Uganda. A few small words about the train wreck and repeated shots of the bridge in Minnesota -- it looked like a frickin GIF image

6. Oh... there was a sixth. The presenter in Britain for CNN. When she interviewed Ann 'Shrill Voice of Treason' Coulter and the toughest question she asked her was, "Is it difficult to be a woman and a conservative?" Like Ann Coulter was the first woman conservative ever. I wanted to scream Margaret Thatcher and PHyllis Schlaffly... two other horrid human beings (This was before Sarah Palin was dropped on the political scene)

Although I kept the broadband internet connection, I haven't had regular TV for years. The only reason to watch it was the news and once it generally reached the stage you've described, rpannier, that was it for me.

I'll bet it felt good to get those rants off your chest, though! (wink)

Zucker hired him. Ratings. People will tune in hoping to see something more interesting than the usual crap that passes for news. Maybe he'll slug someone, or there will be an on-camera walkout, or he'll say something so incoherent it is funny. Resist the urge to watch. The lint in your navel has more important things to say!

I don't find it terribly hard to believe that ANYONE, let alone a non-rich-white-male, who's actively working for the Drumpf campaign ... might be in real need of a good 'shouting at' ...

IOW hopefully it was this shaking of the reporters arm that's actually the important issue, because personally I couldn't give a FF if ANYONE gets into a 'shouting match' with the 'Drumpf Campaign Spokeswoman'.

That actually sounds like something of a community service, honestly.

Just sayin'.

Also, YOU GO GIRLS!!!

Can't imagine how Zucker thinks this provides 'good optics' ... unless he's so shallow as to think it looks good for the 'Liberal CNN' to prove it's bona-fides by hiring someone fired ... by the Republican Nominee.

Here's a Newsflash ... Liberals ... are NOT IMPRESSED ...

I'd be highly inclined to trust her instincts. Every person has this little voice in their head that will tell them that something isn't right with this person. A survival mechanism that evolution gave us. Everyone needs to listen to that voice.

I enjoyed some of his ridiculous antics, and seeing the off camera prepping for the crying fits by smearing vicks vapo-rub in his eyes. What a clown.

CNN threw their credibility in the toilet by giving him all that air time.

CNN anymore, it ignores real live news to talk about politics or other unrelated matters. They are hours behind when a new alert happens, after MSNBC has been carrying the news for hours. It is time for a complete overhaul of their commentators. Walt Blitzer should be the first to be fired.
