Spanish and Turkish restaurants in Lewisham had their windows smashed last night in what is being called the latest example of migrants being targeted in the wake of the Brexit vote.
Five days on from the historic vote which split the country in two, there has been a rise in reported incidents of racism apparently fuelled by the result.
On Sunday, suspected racist graffiti was found on the front of the Polish Social and Cultural Association in Hammersmith in west London. Neither the POSK nor the Metropolitan Police would confirm the content of the message, which has since been washed way.
This morning, Andrew Burgin posted a picture on Facebook of the damage to Donde Tapas in Honor Oak Park in Lewisham, south-east London. Users suggested the attack may be the latest example of anti-migrant violence in the wake of the Brexit vote, though this has not been confirmed.
