Liberal activist, blogger banned from Trump rally

Source: Bangor Daily News

Officials at the Donald Trump rally in Bangor on Wednesday were selective about who they let in and who they kept out. Among the latter group was Mike Tipping, a Bangor Daily News blogger and spokesman for the Maine People’s Alliance, who was not allowed into the event after having been initially credentialed.

“They gave me a credential and then took it back and they wouldn’t tell me why,” said Tipping after the incident. He said he heard someone tell a doorkeeper his identity and instructed him not to let Tipping in. Tipping, a liberal blogger who has written a book that was highly critical of Republican Gov. Paul LePage, said he attended the event with hopes of writing about it.

“I don’t think it was a big deal,” he said. “It was their event and they were being very selective.”

Tipping, who asked repeatedly why he was being ejected and who tried to record the exchange on his cell phone but was told not to by a secret service agent, said he was told that the event was limited to “Republican press,” which he interpreted to mean Republican bloggers

He could say, "I was not allowed to attend the event and this is what Trump likely said." And make it up. Of course, it would likely not be too far from the truth.

Really clever, LiberalFighter!

Mr. Tipping should just make up the entire report as if he had attended it. By using quotes from other Trump rallies and describing the crowd from videos of those rallies, you're right that it would closely resemble whatever actually happened at the event. Then Mr. Trump and his henchmen would be forced to waste their time and energy denying the story and calling Mr. Tipping all kinds of names.

Next, Mr. Tipping writes a second column where he says, of course he made it all up. He assumed his readers have the intelligence to recognize satire when they read it. He apologizes if anyone was offended by his attempts at humor. Then he writes what actually happened to him and describes it in detail and compares it to similar restrictive acts in history. Now Trump's minions waste another day calling him names and questioning his journalistic ethics and his family's history, because that's what they do.

On a serious note, one of the ways the Clinton campaign can defeat Donald Trump is death by a thousand cuts. His campaign is under-funded, under-staffed and poorly organized. The more they are hit from different angles, the more they'll lose what little focus they have. As an additional bonus, Mr. Trump will likely start becoming more erratic and bombastic, (as if that were possible).
