Talks continue as Atlantic City casino strike deadline nears

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) With Atlantic City's lucrative July 4th holiday weekend fast approaching, the struggling seaside gambling resort is trying to avoid a strike against five of its eight casinos.
Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union is threatening a strike Friday against Bally's, Harrah's, Caesars, Tropicana and the Trump Taj Mahal unless a new contract is reached before then.
An exact time for a walkout has not been determined.
Talks were expected to continue late into the night Wednesday, and additional negotiations are scheduled for Thursday.
