Amy Schumers first sexual encounter was not a good one, the comedian recently told Marie Claires Allison Glock for the magazines August issue.
In the interview, where they also discussed Schumers career, her upcoming book and her family, the 35-year-old revealed that when she lost her virginity at 17, it was not consensual. Schumer said that, at the time, she didnt realize what had happened.
My first sexual experience was not a good one. I didnt think about it until I started reading my journal again. When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside me. He was saying, Im so sorry and I cant believe I did this.
Schumer told Glock that the man is no longer in her life and she doesnt feel the need to punish him for what he did. This was 17 years ago. There are just so many factors, she said, adding: I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, No, stop, and it was just completely ignored.

(6,393 posts)Things need to be kept behind closed doors. no good comes from talking about experiences, like people feeling they're not alone in going through things.

(8,679 posts)Is the point of her comedy: the obsession and sexiest perspective of gender and sexuality.
Amy is a comic genius and so few get it.

(I figured as long as we're both guessing as to motive of her missive...)

(10,926 posts)Which relegates this story to just another tale of Amy drinking and fucking.
And before anyone accuses me of downplaying rape or slut-shaming, listen to her comedy shows. Drinking and fucking is the basis of her comedy.

(111,145 posts)Heaven forbid other women might finally have the courage to speak up about what's actually going on out here.
And yes, even you can be raped, even if you're 90 and barricaded inside your home with a loaded shotgun in your lap. Yes, even if you're a man. Just don't expect the rapist to go to jail. Few do. Boys will be boys.

Another celeb that can't stop being in the news, somehow, some way.

(41,692 posts)A lot of young women---including my daughter look up to Amy and admire her for being who she is---and not really giving a fuck what other people think about her.

(24,652 posts)Why would people who are sick of her and don't want to hear about her sex life, click on the thread and then take the time to respond to it? Ever consider that what she had to say may resonate with other women or young girls who thought they were the only one this happened to?

(18,493 posts)a woman speaks of two non-consensual encounters. The second clearly a date rape. Yet we have DUers saying STFU.
Her last quote is so true-
