DNC treatment of Sanders at issue in emails leaked to Wikileaks

(CNN)Nearly 20,000 emails sent and received by Democratic National Committee staff members were released Friday by Wikileaks, and some messages are raising questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary.
One email appears to show DNC staffers asking how they can reference Sanders' faith to weaken him in the eyes of Southern voters. Another seems to depict an attorney advising the committee on how to defend Clinton against an accusation by the Sanders campaign of not living up to a joint fundraising agreement.
The revelation threatened to shatter the uneasy peace between the Clinton and Sanders camps and supporters days before the Democratic convention kicks off next week.

The emails were leaked from the accounts of seven DNC officials, Wikileaks said. CNN has not independently established the emails' authenticity.

(4,825 posts)At the very least DWS has to go. But, it's much bigger issue that that. The DNC is corrupt through and through.

(4,642 posts)and as these things go will probably end up in class action status. May take years to unravel. It will be up to Bernie next week to forgive and move on otherwise this will be a big thorn in the side of The Clinton Kaine election.

(4,229 posts)Anybody watching knows the DNC and big money was behind Clinton. Look at the VP pick.
The republican party is way out of control right now. There's no way in hell the big guys are going to allow two anti establishment candidates.
They have too much to lose. They need somebody to do something around the edges but basically preserve the status quo.

(816 posts)sides had their beef with each other. I thought we weren't supposed to continue to fight the primary. We are in a GE mode now. Lets give it a rest and move on.

However, even that email didn't seem to lead to anything. Probably because by the time it was sent, Sanders was already effectively out of the running.

(1,242 posts)Sounds like their has been no authenticity ........ Kinda plays right into trumps hands he is really trying to get Sanders vote . Why not let Clinton / Sanders / DNC figure this out behind the scenes ? Are they even real ?
I guess I am very cynical about any news report esp if Trump fingerprints seem to be on them ..... reading the CNN article sounds like he has already tweeted .... glad we do not have any cable news right now .
Just wanted to add during the primary I voted for Sanders ..... knowing in Nov I would vote for Clinton .
