Trump Super PAC: Khizr Khan’s son ‘would not have been allowed to serve’ under ‘President Trump’

Source: RawStory

The co-chair for a pro-Donald Trump super PAC tried to excuse the candidate’s rhetoric regarding deceased US Army Capt. Humayun Khan — and his father Khizr Khan — by using Trump’s proposal to ban Muslim immigration into the country.

“If that ban had been in place 30, 40 years ago, then the son of Mr. Khan would not have been allowed to serve. That is correct,” Carl Higbie told CNN International host Hala Gorani. “But also, that’s less than a dozen people who would not have been allowed to serve in the US military who have died.”

“So you’re OK with the 12 people not serving if it means putting a Muslim ban up,” Gorani responded. “You think it’s a good idea?”

“If it means protecting the United States, absolutely,” Higbie said. “I would sacrifice letting 12 people serve during a conflict that’s killed 4,000.”

However, there are about 400,000 members who never identified a religious preference so there are likely to be more. I don't know if there are any stats on how many retired service members are Muslim.

"But also, that’s less than a dozen people who would not have been allowed to serve in the US military who have died."

The meaningful phrase "have died" didn't register in her tiny brain so, instead, she blathers,

"So you’re OK with the 12 people not serving if it means putting a Muslim ban up. You think it’s a good idea?"

If she had a functioning brain, she should have asked:

"So you’re going to demonize another 12 dead soldiers and, we presume, their families because they have the wrong religion?"

After watching the clip I thought the reporter was horrible at her job. She missed a great deal in that interview. He tried to cheapen Captain Khan's life and death and that of 11 other people. She also failed to point out that Donald Trump, reportedly, only gave the $6 million after being forced to do so by the media asking Trump to provide proof that he actually donated the money. I had heard that at least one of the donation happened only the day before Trump held a press conference to answer questions about the donations. She also failed to point out that Trump also attacked General Allen and that Hillary Clinton has not personally attacked anyone who criticized her at the RNC convention, or a Gold Star family.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

What ELSE in the Constitution does Trump want to ignore?

"Why aren't Muslims being patriotic?" and more.

These questions would only be more intense and serving to justify even more repression if this Muslim ban was already in place.

Muslim soldiers did not kill 4,000+ American soldiers. Keeping Muslims out of the U.S. military would not have kept American soldiers safe in Afghanistan and Iraq. These people are crazy.

That Trump supporter was horrible. He tried to cheapen the life and death of Humayun Khan because he was a Muslim. How does anyone form their heart and their mouth to imply that a person"s life and death is less than just because he/she is a Muslim? I was shocked by what he said.

Finally, Trump only gave the $6 million to veterans groups after pressure from the news media. As far as I know most of the donations were made the day before his press conference.

Because that is so tragically typical of Republican big mouths.

Republicans no longer get it about service to America. Just pathetic. They should all pack up and move to Russia with their chickenhawk-in-chief #ComradeTrump.

to make the most outrageous statement?

Did Carl Higbie just call Captain Khan's and other Muslim troops'
sacrifices relatively unimportant among the other U.S. losses?

The Trump campaign has backed off an outright ban of Muslim
entry into the U.S. Higbie seems not only to endorse a ban
but also take it further by saying it would have helped over
the past 40 years.

And finally as a last resort, he brought up the emails.

They so kicked their ass. hehe.

Their grandparents fought some other ones over here. When a bunch of white Europeans get together and decide to play tough, as long as they are fighting people of their own size and materiel, and not just committing genocide, it doesn't matter much whether they drink Liebfraumilch or moonshine.

They just aren't as good as when they get a healthy injection of some other kinds of folks.

Everyone knows it.

We won't let you weaken us like this. You will lose, one way or another.
