Carson: Khans should apologize to Trump

Ben Carson said Wednesday that the parents of an American Muslim soldier killed in Iraq should exchange apologies with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"I don't think it would be harmful if they apologized to him and he apologized to them, but I don't see that happening," Carson, an adviser to Trump, said on CNN's "Wolf."

Asked why the Khans should apologize, Carson said, "If you accuse someone of something that's not true, it usually is a reasonable thing to acknowledge that."

"Why don't we all just say, 'Back off a little bit, we have such important issues to deal with and let's just call a truce,'" the retired neurosurgeon and one-time GOP presidential candidate added.
