Top Clinton State Department aide helped Clinton Foundation
Source: CNN
A top aide to Hillary Clinton at the State Department traveled to New York to interview job candidates for a top job at the Clinton Foundation, a CNN investigation has found. The fact that the aide, Cheryl Mills, was taking part in such a high level task for the Clinton foundation while also working as chief of staff for the secretary of state raises new questions about the blurred lines that have dogged the Clintons in recent years. On June 19, 2012, Mills, then the chief of staff for Clinton at the State Department, boarded a New York City-bound Amtrak train in Washington's Union station. The next morning, at the offices of a New York based executive search firm, Mills would interview two high-level business executives. Her mission was to help the Clinton Foundation find a new leader, a source told CNN. Read more: http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/11/politics/hillary-clinton-cgi-cheryl-mills/index.html

6. There was no conflict of interest. It was volunteer work that Ms. Mills engaged in. Cheryl Mills
been a close friend of the Clinton's for decades.

7. That statement doesn't absolve Mills. It only says that if something was done wrong
She subject to the pertaining laws and regulations. It's a blanket statement.
For the record. I'm not saying that Mills broke any laws and out of all of Hillary's staff. I like her the most and a strong supporter but the optics aren't good. |

That doesn't mean that this story isn't nothing.
I actually agree with you on the video production. I also hate the terrible pictures they show of Mills but if the underlying facts are true then it's not good. An agreement was signed to safeguard against these conflicts. |

18. Oy. So what? Really don't give a tinkers damn about the "optics". I'll leave that to the repugs to
hyperventilate over. It's no secret that Mills is a long time friend and has been employed by the Clinton's in a legal capacity. They respect her judgment. I really think responding to emails that were stolen simply gives the enemy fodder. Screw them! I hope they find emails that actually say that.

23. What's curious is the paragraph you deliberately chose not to quote. Here, I'll do it for you.
According to Mills' attorney, her work for the Clinton Foundation while she was employed at the State Department was strictly voluntary. She received no pay and no government funds were used to finance the short trip.
Are you still confused? Still "concerned?" Huh? Surely you read the whole article, right? I guess not. Try being less obvious next time, maybe? |

24. Well considering I only had 4 paragraphs to work with I think I incapsulated well enough
And that statement from Mills attorney is irrelevant as the agreement that Hillary signed to get confirmed supercedes that.
Besides nowhere did I say she broke the law. If you are going to be condescending at least come with a better argument. |

" I think I incapsulated (sic) well enough..."
Actually, no. An effective synopsis will allow both premise and contrast to premise. Illustrating one at the expense of the other is not a synopsis but rather slanting the story, and (by definition) depicts a rather injudicious lack of objectivity. The only question at this point being, is the slanting intentional or not? Something we will infer for ourselves given time, as the response would in all likelihood merely be the convenient answer (that being part and parcel of the weakness of the human condition as a whole, rather than targeted against any one person... or poster). |

The one asking why here and not in the general is again valid. All I can say is that it was in the breaking news guidelines but it could have went in the general as well. Truthfully, I hardly go to that forum and probably should.
