Trump campaign manager: If women were stronger, rape wouldn't exist
Source: Ajc
This time, it's Trump's newest campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway. She was taking part in a round-table discussion on PBS' "To The Contrary" in 2013 when she said this about rape:
"If we were physiologically not mentally, emotionally, professionally equal to men. If we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist. You would be able to defend yourself," Conway said.
What makes the clip even stranger is that Conway made the remarks unprompted. The panel was discussing women in the military and how much physical strength female soldiers should have compared to their male counterparts. The point about rape seemingly came out of left field.
The statement seems to ignore that some female sexual assault survivors are drugged or otherwise incapacitated. It also fails to take into account that 9 percent of rape or sexual assault survivors are male, according to a U.S. Department of Justice-sponsored study.

Not for me, anyway. I have had clinical depression my entire life and at times sink pretty low. No way I'd keep a gun in my house, even now that the only child living here is seventeen.
I hate guns. Hate them.

(27,546 posts)can you and Mr. Bannon have an answer to this report, I think the public has a right to know, since your "guy" and "everyone", in the "republican party, from Paul Ryan, every republican Congressman and woman, Mitch McConnell, and every republican U.S Senate men and woman on down:
says that what he is saying is wrong, but will still "vote" for him because he is better than the democratic candidate-----------really:
What say the republican party..........................he owns you and you own him, lets not forget this point, and this article should be asked in every campaign debate, in the MSM when confronted in this country, do you still endorse and will vote for Donald J. Trump?

What's next from her? Is she going to say that if only Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown were bulletproof, they'd be okay? If only people could fly, we'd have far fewer car accidents?

(254 posts)This woman is a propaganda shill for Trump, and somehow the cable news media wants to defer to her as some kind of responsible, diplomatic schmoozer who's such a refreshing change from the woman who used to wear bullets around her neck-- Katrina something or other. But now Conway is the darling of the Trump idiocy parade, even though she said today that women wouldn't be rape victims if they weren't the weaker sex. My God, what has happened to the national conversation? Conway is a propagandist who will NOT answer sensitive questions about Trump's statements or behavior, ever. She's just in front of cameras to put lipstick on the Pig.
Blue Idaho
(5,500 posts)She has a long history supporting all sorts of sexist and racist policy ideas. She is an unabashed über conservative nut case. Take her position on rape... She believes that if women were just as strong as men there would be no rape - ever. Why the media has decided she is the "reasonable woman" is beyond me.

(254 posts)I'm getting tired, very tired, of Trump's insistence that he remain the main character in the 24 hour news cycle. Every cycle, every day, is consumed by Trump. MSNBC has what, 4 hours of prime time news and commentary. Trump dominates roughly 80% of every program on every day. Yes, he's losing the election. And perhaps I should be gleeful about Trump continuing to shoot himself in the foot. He's got so many feet to shoot, he's a centipede. But I digress. I've come to the point in this election season to start turning off the news programs because they're getting so predictable in their coverage of Trump, it's getting boring.
And no, I won't vote for the monster. And now I don't want to listen to him anymore or see news items about him anymore.
