Congress departs for recess until after Election Day

By Cristina Marcos

The House and Senate adjourned late Wednesday night upon averting a government shutdown, cutting lawmakers loose until after Election Day. Both chambers are slated to return in six weeks on Monday, Nov. 14.

Members of both parties have been eager to return home as soon as possible so they can campaign for reelection.

The House passed the bill funding the government through Dec. 9 late Wednesday in a 342-85 vote after the Senate easily approved it earlier that afternoon.

against President Obama and its why we really need to retake both the House and the Senate as the Republicans only care about gaining more power for themselves and their party and they are willing to throw the american people under a bus to do it.

If memory serves, their salaries start at $174,000. We need to remember that when they whine about increasing the minimum wage for people who actually show up and work hard.

We have GOT to get a majority in the Senate at least. Absolute must.
