NEWARK As Bill Baroni headed to the New Jersey State House in November 2013 to face questions from a legislative committee about the mysterious lane closings on the George Washington Bridge earlier that year, he texted David Wildstein an image titled Mr. Wolf.
It was a photo of the Harvey Keitel character in the movie Pulp Fiction, an expert in disposing of dead bodies.
It was an inside joke started by Gov. Chris Christie two months earlier, Mr. Wildstein said, when he and Mr. Baroni told the governor at a Sept. 11 memorial service that they had closed access lanes to the bridge to create a traffic jam to punish a mayor who had declined to endorse the governors re-election.
Mr. Christie had laughed about the lane closing, which was then at its midpoint, Mr. Wildstein said, and he referred to Mr. Wildstein as Winston Wolf.
The reference was Mr. Wolf, the problem-solver in that movie, Mr. Wildstein testified here in federal court on Wednesday.

BTW Much love to all the people of New Jersey who were impacted by the train crash and if my

(18,652 posts)it's doubtful Wildstein did not know about the conspiracy until Sept. 11, 2013. It seems he was mostly over Baroni in the chain of command.
