‘The Daily Show’ Digs Up Creepy Clip of Trump Defending a Statutory Rape

Source: The Daily Beast

“There is no context in which Trump will not zero in on a woman’s looks. And we discovered a clip the other day that exemplifies that perfectly,” said Noah. “It’s December 2004, and America is in a tizzy over a sex scandal in which a 23-year-old middle-school teacher was arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old student—aka a sex crime. And in an appearance on a morning radio show, Donald Trump was kind enough to share some of his thoughts.”

The incident Noah is referring to is the case of 23-year-old teacher Debra Lafave, a middle-school teacher in Temple Terrace, Florida, who was charged with—and later pleaded guilty to—lewd and lascivious battery for having sexual intercourse with one of her 14-year-old students on four separate occasions.

Trump, as is his wont, weighed in on the case on the radio program Imus in the Morning back on Dec. 2, 2004. And the interview was dug up for the first time by The Daily Show.

“How would you like to be the husband of the wife who was playing around with a 14-year-old kid? Unbelievable,” Trump said of the Lafave case. “By the way, did you see what she looked like?” asked Trump. “Not bad,” replied host Don Imus.

They dropped and re-filed the case in a different court that was appropriate to their case.

on both television and radio for interviews for the last couple decades. That's why his name and "brand" continues to be out there. There is plenty of material out there for the lookers to find - particularly those in broadcast media who could get access to stuff that might not yet have made it to youtube.

This what we call "vetting". Something that should have been done on day one when he first filed to run.

Admittedly there is a ton of stuff to dig through, but really, Jeb with all that money and Cruz with all that Ivy League smartypants and Fiorini with her executive experience should have been able to find lots of juicy stuff by January.

It's the same thing with disruptive technology. If you are in the transportation business and the internal combustion engine comes along, you don't concentrate on perfecting your relationship with buggy whip suppliers. You deal with the disruptive technology first and either knock it down or get on board.

Trump is disruptive in all senses of the word. The front runners like Jeb should have figured out that you knock Trump out first to clear the obstruction before your trip over him.

It took a Democratic woman to do what 16 Republicans could not do.
