Donald Trump Says Central Park Five Are Guilty, Despite DNA Evidence
Source: NBC
Wading into a racially-charged case from his past, Donald Trump indicated that the "Central Park Five" were guilty, despite being officially exonerated by DNA evidence decades after a notorious 1989 rape case. "They admitted they were guilty," Trump said to CNN in a statement. "The police doing the original investigation say they were guilty. The fact that that case was settled with so much evidence against them is outrageous. And the woman, so badly injured, will never be the same." The five men were convicted as teenagers after implicating each other under intense questioning over a brutal sexual assault on a jogger that dominated the tabloids. Defenders said they were coerced into confessing and all five were later cleared by DNA evidence and a separate confession in 2002 from another criminal who took credit for the assault. Read more: http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/donald-trump-says-central-park-five-are-guilty-despite-dna-n661941 DNA evidence and separate confession mean nothing to him. Why? Because back then in 1989 he took a stand that they were guilty and should be put to death. Going so far as to take out full page advertising in several newspapers at a cost of $85,000. He ignores the obvious bias which was taking place in NY back in 1989. A bias which he went beyond embracing to actually help spread and fuel. Trump is truly deranged. That he's the actual Republican candidate for the WH boggles my mind on a daily basis!

He speaks too quickly, and is incapable of admitting it when he is wrong.
He said the crash of the EgyptAir flight was terrorism, and no such thing has been proven. |

8. Yeah, it's the same something that drove him work to sway public opinion on them back in 1989
He's a raging racist.
The GOP's nominee for POTUS in 2016 just doubled down on a racially charged call for the death penatly against 5 falsely charged, and now exonerated men he'd made in 1989. |

There'll be no difference in the content of the moronic statements, but at least the tone will be different. And who knows, maybe there'll be less overt racism to the next nitwit's blather.

14. None of them confessed to raping the jogger. They all said that they were
present while the others committed the rape because the cops told them they'd be allowed to go home if they implicated the other suspects.
Most people are unaware they the police arrested and interrogated nearly a dozen kids who were in the park that night. The ones that they intimidated into confessing were the ones who went to trial. |

29. He has something in common, then, with his VP
Gov. Pence refused to exonerate a 10 year convict who has now been proven innocent of armed robbery/rape via DNA evidence. Mr. Pence wants him to have a new trial because the Gov wants to support the court's misguided prosecutorial processes. 17. Denial of reality "is OK if you're a Republican", as the saying goes
It's not surprising he represents the Republicans. It's a basic part of them to deny science (creationism, climate science, or in this case DNA evidence) when it's convenient for them - and the anti-intellectual aspect of it is a bonus for them. Not admitting you're wrong is typical for them too.
I guess what surprises me isn't so much that so many Republicans like his act, as that they think it can win the presidency. And what worries me is they're almost right. A candidate saying what he says, and with the past he has, ought to be failing on an epic scale in the general election. It means there are a lot of people who aren't dyed-in-the-wool Republicans who still like his brand of hatred. |

19. I think this is very good for our side.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outstanding !!!
Trump stands by a position that has been proven to be false
Why?... does this matter? What matters is that his judgment is slanted so much from seeing the truth that this is what he says..years later.......Now this will not change my position in this election. But, there are some who will say..."That does it, I will not vote for him, I will vote for Hillary..she at least can see the truth, this person can't .. Proof is proof, Yet Trump refuses to believe the truth, to protect his stance. He was wrong, ok that is why erasers are put on pencils.....We all make mistakes...but, to stand by a lie, when truth is clear and obvious..as in the DNA evidence...proves one easily understood idea.... DONALD TRUMP IS NOT QUALIFIED...( BECAUSE OF HIS PERSONALITY TO SEE TRUTH FROM FICTION)... ..TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.......... this does not convince me, but some will be won over by this one clear example of lack of clarity of thought..Further..and just as important as denial of truth, is lack of judgment. He could have avoided an answer, but instead, delved into a case that was long gone and dead. The city already settled. Why would any sane person get into this shit years later.. No..but he had to do it, which will convince some that his judgment and thinking is sick and twisted...No sane candidate for President of the United States would say anything like this quote on CNN..(it just isn't necessary) ..I thought that I had seen all ways that he could disqualify himself...but..no......I was wrong...today...he showed us a new one..........great news....!!!.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

23. He's on the Amanda Knox documentary saying people should boycott Italy
Knox has very close to a false confession in her discussion and accusation of Patrick Lumumba. So, when Amanda Knox falsely confesses, Trump rules it out. When the Central Park five do (mind you, some of them were 14 and 15 at the time - and at least one, Yusef Salaam, never confessed all!), that's OK, but when Amanda Knox did, well, never mind that.
Trump is a racist. An out-and-out racist. End of story. |
