LUNTZ: Well, I have been to 26 states now. I will probably make it to 30 before the election is over. And it means that there is no coming together.
And I think its going to be very challenging for the GOP, because you have got some Trump voters who are unwilling to vote for a Republican for Senate or Congress as a way to send a message to the establishment, and you have got some independents who want to vote Republican for the Senate and the House, but wont because theyre too connected to Donald Trump.
With only 17 days to go, I have not seen an election like this, where there is so much intraparty battles going on at a time when the Republicans should be focused on the Democrats and prosecuting the case against their leadership.

Opportunity here, folks: Can you take to the newsgroups, Twitters, Social Media,
message boards to encourage your 'fellow' Republicans to send a message of
disapproval to the GOP establishment by not voting??
It's an opp that doesn't come along very often, we should seize it

(43,161 posts)"I'm thinking about not even voting because of Trump, the party
has not listened to us normal suburbanites for awhile, they listen
to lobbyist and TV pundits, but they always want our checks, and
this Trump is what we get!"
or something along those lines
It calls for an astute indirect line for sure

(7,632 posts)for not supporting Trump more fully. Doesn't matter if they actually did or not - it's what our Fuhrer really wants whether or not he actually says it.
I tell them it will bring on the RW revolution all baggers like us long for and herald in the white supremacist theocracy they so desire.
Have no idea if this actually helps but it's fun to do.
That's as good as any.
It could also be "I'm crazy."

(15,805 posts)Are all these dumb voters a naturally occurring mutation in nature, or did the GOP create them in a secret eugenics lab?

(56,828 posts)per Bobby Jindal, but they still control the House, Senate and a majority of governorships and state legislatures.

(15,805 posts)for the GOP to remain in control of much of anything, yeah? Its such a fiendishly brilliant idea, I suspect the seeds were sewn by a far greater intelligence than the average Republican voter.

Some people tell me that conservative voters are too chicken to send that message to the Republican establishment. I don't know, you tell me.

(14,750 posts)it's the deplorables. Assuming of course you draw that distinction.
Seriously, this is all over the rabid wing websites. It's hard to tell if its just a few vocal reptiles or it is taking hold to a wider audience.
But, it is a wonderful thing to see. #nodownballot

(24,701 posts)and I was struck how one woman (republican) said that she was going to vote for Clinton, but then vote for Portmann.
A woman that wants to protect her right to privacy, and a man, that wants to punish those woman and there right to privacy like Portmann
And then a woman and her husband sitting at a table, she was going to vote for Clinton and him Trump.
What was remarkable in that segment the woman gave her answers on what the dumpster would do if he was in the white house behind closed doors, and the man said because of trade deals, at no time did pelly explain to the steel worker that NAFTA was started under GHW Bush, and that the dumpster has been buying steel from china, and would he still vote for the dumpster
SHRED
(28,136 posts)Trump steel is from China and that tRump outsources his product manufacturing to foreign labor.
But Pelly failed as most of the M$M does.

(24,701 posts)and when I read the article of what happened with Sanders in the race and the belt way press, and then read the issue of Medicare, which I am on, and then watching Pelly trying to show that the electorate was divided I went BS. His boss Les Moovees thought at the very beginning of this right wing fiasco that the dumptser would be good for the money and his oligarchy empire , screw the news and Medicare, or what this "guy" has been saying about Native's or about the men and woman being thrown to the ground (and attacked by dogs) in North Dakota by sheriff officers from Wisconsin, nope, Pelly, trying to make the presidential race into a horse race and lower the bar of information-----amazing

(24,764 posts)He's up to another sneaky scheme, trying to trick Democrats and other Clinton supporters to take this election for granted by staying home. He's lying through his teeth about repukes abstaining to "send the Establishment a message" when in fact they'll show up.

(12,155 posts)to vote against Hillary. Republicans are heavily motivated by fear and hate.
Dems' GOTV effort has got to be massive. Never take anything for granted.

(6,414 posts)99% of voters don't know who Frank Luntz is. They'll never hear this.
Also, it seems plausible to me.

(1,786 posts)because most of the Dems I know see a good chance to take back the House.
In fact, I am seeing these Dems inspired to vote even more. The early ballot returns are showing that.

(1,907 posts)There is no way to know if it will be anything actually noticeable. Even off in freeper land some of those saying stuff against ryan you can be sure if in his area will still be voting for him. And this isn't something anybody should take a chance on. Even on the never trump repub side. You can be sure some of them will still vote for him. The only way is to gotv. Waiting till after the election then finding out the never trumps and the not going to vote down ballot actually vote straight repub is not a good idea. It needs to be a push for gotv and hopefully a mandate election. That is really the only way to help keep America moving forward. GOTV to take all three, senate, house, and Presidency.
