Donald Trump says he will dramatically ramp up donations in final stretch of campaign

Source: CNN

Donald Trump told CNN Wednesday he is prepared to open up his wallet and donate considerably more to his campaign in the closing days of the race.

He claimed that by Election Day, he will have spent $100 million. Federal Election Commission records through September, however, show Trump has given far less to his campaign so far. The GOP nominee nevertheless paraded the fact that he remained competitive in the race despite being heavily outspent on advertising.

"I will have over $100 million in the campaign, and I'm prepared to go much more than that," he told CNN's Dana Bash outside of his new hotel in Washington, D.C., declining to offer an exact figure. "In the old days, you'd get credit: If you would spend less money and have victory, that would be a good thing. Today, they want you to spend money."

Trump also said he was confident of victory next month despite poll numbers showing him lagging behind Hillary Clinton.

3. You rack it up early in the campaign so you can spend it at the end

What's he going to do with money racked up at the end of the campaign? Pocket it? Aaah. That's the idea. It's for his pocket, not the campaign.

...and pocket it, because after the election they might not pony up any more (might not buy the hats, tees, bumper stickers, etc.). Not that he won't try to keep this gravy train running with hats, tees, etc, saying "Trump won!" And such.

....say that, in fact he seemed to be ducking the issue. Bash asked him three or four times point blank, and he never clearly answered the question.

From the way he spoke, I don't think he's going to put very much more into his campaign. He knows it's a waste at this point.

With all the reports showing he's off-the-charts lying about everything, why should we believe this?

I'm still waiting on that big report from Hawaii on Obama's birth certificate.

That this POS has yet to utter anything resembling a truth, why WOULD I believe this?

Of course I know, not being a trumpette, that if I were a supporter, I'd be idiot enough to believe it.

Guess I just answered my own question.
