President-elect Donald Trump nearing settlement in Trump University fraud case

Source: New York Daily News

Friday, November 18, 2016, 9:15 AM

ALBANY — In a complete turnaround from his previous position, President-elect Donald Trump is nearing a settlement of the fraud cases brought in New York and California involving his now defunct for-profit Trump University, the Daily News has learned.

Under the emerging deal being negotiated by Trump's lawyers, New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the law firm that brought a class action lawsuit regarding Trump University in California, the president-elect will agree to pay between $20 million and $25 million to settle the matter, a source with knowledge of the situation said.

Trump will not admit to any wrongdoing in the final agreement, which could be announced as soon as Friday, the source said.

During the presidential campaign, Trump had threatened to have his executives reopen the school once the cases were done. It's not clear if that was bluster or if the settlement will bar that from happening even if he was serious.

That said, I was afraid of what a jury might have decided in these insane days. Many of those plaintiffs really, really need the money they were swindled out of. At least with a settlement they won't risk losing everything.

bring him into court and have him testify. None of this "settlement " BS.

That's whats been going on since 2008 with the housing stuff. Do your job!!!!

If he goes into court and "will lie" then he cannot be chief of of the national treasure.

If I were to do that you can bet one dollar that I would be going to court.

I want to see all of the senators in the U.S. Senate with there right wing judges giving this "guy" a pass, like he has been given a pass on everything in his life.

For God's sake Trump U targeted the widows of Vets killed in Iraq telling them
that they could use their Trump U degrees to start their home real estate business
so they could be home to take care of her kids too. And in the end they 10s of
thousands of $s in credit card debt and nothing of real value.

Schneiderman shouldn't settle, he'll never collect and the Donald will once again avoid taking responsibility for being a criminal fraud.

Goddess, I hate this so much!
