Report of gunshots in Lewiston over Trump election

LEWISTON — Gunshots were reported downtown Friday night following a fight on Birch Street over the results of last week's presidential election, according to witnesses.
Police swarmed at Birch and Blake streets at about 8:30 p.m. after witnesses reported several shots were fired. No one was hurt in the melee.
Minutes after they arrived at the scene, police reported that a gun had been recovered. Officers were searching for a pair of men to question them about the incident.
Early reports suggested that a group of men began arguing in the area over the recent election of Donald J. Trump. Gunshots followed, witnesses said, but it was not immediately clear who fired them.
