Donald Trump's media summit was a 'f--ing firing squad'

Source: New York Post

President-elect Donald Trump exploded at media bigs in an off-the-record Trump Tower powow on Monday, sources told The Post.

"It was like a f--ing firing squad," said one source.

"Trump started with Jeff Zucker and said I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed."

"The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down," the source added.

Another account, from Politico (so pinches of salt, as ever):

Trump asks for media 'reset,' but lashes out at execs

President-elect Donald Trump on Monday told a group of about 25 television executives and anchors that he wants a “cordial” and “productive” relationship with the media, according to one source in the room, but he still aired some grievances during the off-the-record gathering in Trump Tower.

The source said the meeting started with a typical Trump complaint about the “dishonest media,” and that he specifically singled out CNN and NBC News for example as “the worst.”

He also complained about photos of himself that NBC used that he found unflattering, the source said.

Trump turned to NBC News President Deborah Turness at one point, the source said, and told her the network won’t run a nice picture of him, instead choosing “this picture of me,” as he made a face with a double chin. Turness replied that they had a “very nice” picture of him on their website at the moment.

There is an old saying about not starting arguments with anyone who buys ink by the barrel, but are our media so docile that they'll do anything to stay in Agent Orange's good graces? (Certainly the First Amendment will be ignored - the Constitution is useful only insofar as it is actually observed and there is a means of enforcing it.) after everything between the lines has been filtered (that includes this OP):

Top network executives, anchors meet with Donald Trump

Executives and anchors from the country's five biggest television networks met with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower on Monday afternoon.

...

The meeting was off the record, meaning the participants agreed not to talk about the substance of the conversations.

But a source in the room said there was "real progress" made with regards to media access to Trump and his administration.

A second participant affirmed this and said the journalists spoke with Trump about the importance of the "press pool," a small group of journalists that traditionally travels with the president.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/21/media/donald-trump-meeting-tv-networks/

It would suit Trump to satisfy his base by making it known he'd bawled the MSM out.

He may be a cartoonish example, but this is why "titans of the business world" make terrible public officials. They are used to bellowing at everyone around them, because usually they are all employees. No one dares disagree.

The press, when it's doing its job, has a slightly different attitude.

Media + Tramp = Master Manipulators!

I don't believe a single word any of them are saying. We saw what the corporate media did during the election, including CNN. They think if they seem to be fighting each other, we'll like one or the other....when in fact this "fighting the media" thing is nothing but a hoax perpetuated for our benefit! I'm not buying any of it!

The repubs won the white house, and held the house and senate. That's their mandate, and they will do whatever they want for the next four (or eight) years.

He's not on a sticky wicket, he's on a purple carpet leading to his gilded throne.

She also called him out on the support of the alt-right and said he would own it soon it he didn't denounce it. Hopefully Chuck Toad will pay some attention to her bravery.

But most of these million dollar news readers (they are not journalists) will not rock the boat because they do not want to risk their multi million dollar a year salary.

They will be blacklisted from all major networks if they call out Trump and they lose access for the whole network.

81. Nicolle Wallace is a REPUBLICAN, too.

Nov 2016

Her claims to fame are that she found Sarah Palin to be entirely unacceptable, and she wasn't a "snarler" - really:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolle_Wallace

White House and Bush–Cheney '04[edit]
Wallace joined the White House staff during President George W. Bush's first term, serving as Special Assistant to the President and Director of Media Affairs at the White House, where she oversaw regional press strategy and outreach.[5]
In 2003, Wallace joined the Bush–Cheney '04 campaign as the Communications Director, where according to The New York Times, "she delivered her political attacks without snarling."[6]
On January 5, 2005, Bush named Wallace White House Communications Director.[5] The New York Times story announcing her presidential appointment carried the headline: "New Aide Aims to Defrost the Press Room," and described Wallace's intentions "to improve the contentious relationship between a secretive White House and the press."[6] According to The Washington Post, Wallace served as "a voice for more openness with reporters", and former colleagues describe Wallace as having been "very persuasive in the halls of the West Wing."[4]
Her White House colleague, presidential political advisor Mark McKinnon, called her a "rare talent in politics."[7]
McCain–Palin campaign[edit]
Wallace also served as a senior advisor for the McCain-Palin campaign in 2008. She appeared frequently on network and cable news programs as the campaign's top spokesperson and defender.[8]
In late October 2008, campaign aides criticized vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. One unnamed McCain aide said Palin had "gone rogue," placing her own future political interests ahead of the McCain/Palin ticket, directly contradicting her running mate's positions, and disobeying directions from campaign managers.[9][10] In response to reports of dissension within the McCain-Palin campaign, Wallace issued a statement to both Politico and CNN saying: "If people want to throw me under the bus, my personal belief is that the most honorable thing to do is to lie there."[11][9]
Wallace was portrayed by Sarah Paulson in the 2012 film Game Change.[12] Wallace described the film as highly credible, saying the film "captured the spirit and emotion of the campaign." Wallace also told ABC News Chief Political Correspondent George Stephanopoulos that the film was "true enough to make me squirm."[13]
Wallace has stated she did not vote for a presidential candidate in 2008 because Sarah Palin gave her pause.[14]

It looks like she is burnishing her credentials.

History of the impeachment statement in Constitution was to protect US against BRIBERY, which is named as a high crime. Discussion centered on a Consitutional crisis if Don doesn't put his assets in a blind trust (not to his children). Also that with all the appts. Don must do and running the gov, he is focusing instead on filling the Old Post Office beds and other assets he owns.

Bottom line: impeachment is on the table already

They created this monster. They nurtured him, coddled him, gave him all the free publicity he needed in the primaries, and never once challenged him on anything. They let him get away with blatant lies, while bashing Hillary at every turn. They got exactly what they deserved. Maybe THIS will cause the scales to fall from their eyes, but I doubt it. They're whores and they have been on their knees to Republican presidents since Reagan.
