3 California mosques threatened in letter praising Trump

Local Islamic leaders are asking for increased police protection after at least three California mosques received a letter that threatens Muslims and praises President-Elect Donald Trump.

Over the past several days, Islamic centers in Long Beach, Claremont and San Jose all received the same photocopy of a handwritten letter addressed to the Children of Satan. The letter calls Muslims vile, filthy and evil. It then states that Trump who, during his campaign, proposed making Muslims register and blocking people of faith from entering the country is going to cleanse America.

Hes going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the Jews, the letter reads. You Muslims would be wise to pack your bags and get out of Dodge.

The letter is signed Americans for a Better Way.

I just don't get how someone misidentifies a Sikh as being a Muslim. Unless of course the attacker is uneducated.

Singh ran but not fast enough. A group of boys and young men on bicycles taunted him using racial slurs. One pulled his beard and then the attackers punched and kicked him repeatedly. He lay on the ground, waiting for them to stop, when passers-by intervened. Singh ended up in the hospital with a broken jaw, dislodged teeth and other gruesome injuries.

8. We have right-wing bigots, too, but the left-wing liberals and humanists vastly outnumber them.

As mentioned above by eppur_se_muova in #4, Orange County (San Diego) in Southern California is right-wing and red, and our rural areas, which are the sparsely populated desert and mountainous areas, along with parts of the Central Valley, are red. The major urban centers (wxcept San Diego) are blue liberal. It only takes ONE bigot to create violence and mayhem, though.

However, I am curious where these letters were postmarked. The article doesn't say. We don't have closed borders. The senders of such letters and perpetrators of such violence could come into California from anywhere. They may have targeted these particular centers because 1) they are large, and 2) they are in a very liberal state. Too many unknowns here... hopefully, they are investigating this thoroughly.
