Netanyahu says he hopes to work with Trump to undo Iran deal

Source: Washington Post

JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he believes U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will be a good friend to Israel and hopes the two countries can work together to dismantle the international nuclear agreement with Iran.

“I know Donald Trump,” Netanyahu told CBS’s “60 Minutes” in an interview scheduled to air Sunday night. “And I think his attitude, his support for Israel is clear. He feels very warmly about the Jewish state, about the Jewish people. There’s no question about that.”

Netanyahu’s remarks are significant in part because critics have accused Trump of tolerating anti-Semitism among some of his supporters.

While the two countries are close allies, relations were sometimes tense between Netanyahu and President Barack Obama because of their vastly different world views on the Iran deal and other issues. And there is sentiment in the nationalist Israeli right wing that Trump’s election could usher in a new era of relations with the United States.

Never mind that there's no way to launch missile strikes that ONLY hit any "nuclear sites&quot assuming Iran is even still trying to get the Bomb), and never mind that there's no way to attack Iran militarily without ending up in a shooting war with Russia(in which we will all end up dead).

There is nobody more into the idea of bombing Iran than Bolton and The Mad Dog.

They have wanted to bomb Iran since 1979.

They assassinated their nuclear scientists, wanted to bomb their location so the US came up with the stuxnet virus which Israel used a more aggressive code which spread all over into the hands of a Russian cyber security company.

With his bullshit "it is now 1938" rhetoric that implies Iran is the new Nazi Germany or something(as opposed to what it actually is-a medium-power and not particularly prosperous country that is a somewhere between democracy and dictatorship and is mainly just trying to muddle through on a day-to-day basis).

They use diverse sources for energy which explains why they want nuclear energy. They nationalize many industries which is why Iran is an "enemy".

The main thing that harms it's economy are sanctions.

investigative journalism. Now they do fluff pieces on Trump before the election and Clinton hit pieces. Now that Putin
had Trump installed as President they do a piece on how our relations with Israel is going to improve. How about a report on how the Russians along with Manafort and Trump pulled off a coup.

Netanyahu wants to trash the deal so he can have his citizens afraid and angry. Then he can do anything he wants like the continued expansion into Palestinian's land. Having any two-state solution would hurt Netanyahu and his parties position in Israel.

Same goes for the GOP. They like to talk tough about Iran as a big scary threat to enact all kinds of crazy policies in the name of safeguarding the homeland.

Netanyahu is hedging his bets. He is a demagogue like the incoming president, though much more educated. I am sure he is wondering how the possible new Russian alliance will affect Israel and US relations. But, it will give a certain segment something to shit their pants about and screech, and allow them to launch into a new wave of bigotry.
